Poll: Which animation do you prefer: Hand drawn or Computer?

I prefer hand drawn my self, i grew up with it. I like 3D animation too, but i Think all those "Shrek inspired" Movies that flooded the theaters for the last decade sort of ruined it.

I think its getting better, with studios like dreamworks stepping up and making stuff like How to train your dragon

Instead of crap like Bee movie....FUCK I hate that movie (I know its not dreamworks)

I loved How to Train your Dragon, it was pretty original for something made by Dreamworks. They should do more stuff like that.

anyway my point there is that Hopefully dreamworks and other animation in general is getting away from the whole celebrity voice+talking animal+pop culture references for the adults=money! thing, a trend which they started with shrek

which Bee Movie to me represents, (look at meeeee!! Im jerry seinfeld and Im a beee!!! woooo!!!!)

Well there's a lot of crossover here, but if you're referring to 3D modeling vs 2D animations it like apples and oranges. They have different uses, point being I like anime; it's 2D, but I like lots of 3D animation as well.

The title pretty much says it all. Do you like the movies of today, who are mostly computer animated, or the traditional kind of the ninties?

You have to remember that computer cgi is drawn by a person then put onto the computer. It's not actually drawn on a computer it's just improved then animated.

I knew someone was going to say this. Oh well.

Anyway, I say hand drawn because that's what the traditional style was called. Computer animation is of course different because mostly everyone uses it to refer to 3D graphics animation.

Yeah i know sorrey just had to be smart ass but i think i like computer animation more because it involves both drawing skills and computer skills and you can accomplish more with it. Better animes will come out of cgi animation then the traditional hand drawn.
