Hello fellows!

From last two months I have really annoying pains in my neck. I think it's because too many hours on the computer playing games and watching movies (and my mother always told me that I should spent more time on fresh air :p). Anyway, I have a good matterless so I suppose that's because of my chair and I need to buy the new one. I think about one of ergonomic chair - it could be good for me and my neck.

I did a quick research and found some rankings of chairs for neck pain: http://www.workwithpleasure.com/89/you-have-neck-or-back-pain-this-will-help-you/ I like Ancheer and Raynor Ergohuman as they have head support. Anyone have one of these chairs or at least these companies? If don't let me know which chairs do you have and could recommend.

Looking forward to any help and your opinions.

Mike.

I hate to ask this but how exactly are you sitting in your chair? Do you think it's even possible to play games on your PC while you're back is cushioned completely against the chair, upright and into the headrest? Note how high the armrests are on those expensive seats, would you even be able to sit close enough to your desk with those humongous things jutting forward and up?

I have terrible posture when I'm sitting. I'm always hunched over like Snoopy when he's sitting like a vulture [http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/peanuts/images/5/56/SnoopyVulture.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120619145711]. Been like this my entire life and the only result is stiff--what is that part of your body between the neck and shoulders--whatever those are. If your neck is hurting, perhaps what you need is to adjust the height of your monitor instead.

I have four Ergotron monitor arms (three nice ones, one cheap but functional one) and they're amazing. After supporting two 24" HDTV monitors for 5+ years now the arms haven't moved an inch. There's no sag, nothing.

If your monitors are on a desk top perhaps you should try adjusting the height using boxes or books and see if that makes anything better. If that works, I highly suggest the Ergotron LX or the licensed Amazon equivalent [https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1467841670&sr=8-3&keywords=ergotron+lx], which is much cheaper. Erogotron makes a dual monitor arm set, but it's cheaper to just buy two Amazon Basics brand arms and use those together.

Thanks for advices Frezzato. Actually I just a few weeks ago got some knowledge about proper ergonomic. I made my screen on proper height and now I try to sit better. I also had terrible posture - just like you but trying to make it better but it's hard if you have bad habits.

Don't think that I need monitor arms as my monitor is on proper height now. But my chair is still crappy and swaying that's why I need better one. I will use your advices about armrest etc. but still need chair. Which do you use now? Maybe one of Ancheer or Raynor Ergohuman?

A few years back I bought what is known as a task chair. You can tell it's heavy duty because the seat cushion is very thick. The more expensive ones are intended to be used 24/7 (three 8 hour shifts).

At an old job we used what I believe are these chairs [https://www.amazon.com/Flash-Furniture-Multi-Functional-Ergonomic-BT-6191H/dp/B00LFARDGS/ref=pd_sim_sbs_196_13?ie=UTF8&dpID=41xREtyo%2BpL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=84Z4HDM5T40HSKTZTZXZ]. I'm considering buying one now, but only because I think this is the one we used. Note the curve on the cushion; it's quite firm (as in supporting) and despite sitting on one in excess of 10-11 hours at a time, I never got uncomfortable[footnote]From Bizchair.com [http://www.bizchair.com/bt-6191h-by-gg.html?utm_source=google.com&utm_medium=Comparison&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&three_term=GSH_17MU_1]
Really Good Value For The Price

I use this chair in my home office. I am in it on average 12 - 14 hrs a day. I love the way the back tilt / adjusts. I am very short so finding a chair that suits me was a task in itself. The only reason I did not give it five stars -The seat padding is too stiff for my liking.[/footnote]. It's even cheaper on Jet.com [https://jet.com/product/detail/a426c56a30fc4704ae046c7599484072?jcmp=pla:ggl:gen_furniture_a1:eek:ffice_furniture_office_chairs_a1_other:na:pLA_345555780_23673449940_pla-161676431820:na:na:na:2&code=PLA15&ds_c=gen_furniture_a1&ds_cid&ds_ag=office_furniture_office_chairs_a1_other&product_id=a426c56a30fc4704ae046c7599484072&product_partition_id=161676431820&gclid=CjwKEAjw2PK7BRDPz5nDh9GjoGcSJAAybcS3h6gjyuqa2hObXWgLRb1DZaUhdRPs0U9XOgaNAviK-BoCiDrw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds] but I believe you sacrifice some guarantees, like being able to return it, for an incrementally lower price.

I like the ones you listed but in my experience mesh chairs just don't provide enough lower back support. And the ones that are covered in fake leather have zero cushioning and flatten out after just a few months.

I don't think I've ever tried a chair with the headrest built in like that. I've worked a lot of office jobs and nobody, not even the owners, ever went for chairs like those.

Got it. Personally I don't really like chairs like you showed as it's just not too comfortable for me (I had one some time before). Plus I think that headrest will be great thing for my neck. So I try to look for something more ergonomic, at least with profiled seatback and mesh as I think it's the best material as my skin won't sweat when is hot.

Yesterday at work I was sitting in a mesh chair that security uses and they're incredibly comfortable. The manufacturer is Projek [http://www.teknion.com/pricing/seating/pdfs/seating.pdf], which I believe is Canadian. It surprised me how well they've held up as they've been using them for around 18 months with different people sitting in them 24/7. As I mentioned before, mesh chairs tend to have poor lower back support, but these chairs have a pad that pushes inward from the other side. The thing I noticed was the spot where people lean against the pad has started to break down, leaving the mesh frayed and on the verge of splitting apart. Just something to keep in mind.
