Poll: Which company is doing more damage to gaming?

I voted for Activision since I've only played one or two EA games. Activison has pulled a lot of crap with decent games, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, WoW.

I have to say Activision it pisses me off with everyone walking around talking about their K/D and all of my friends lists inviting me to play with them.

Activision is doing more at the moment but EA holds the title for overall damage doen. I still remember Origin, Bullfrog, Weswood and other. They're still doing it as well, just look at Bioware and they fall into the same old pattern.

Game Freak. They are just pumping the same Pokemon trash out year after year. All they do is change the map around and add some new Pokemon, and voila! New game. It disgusts me.

I actually have nothing against EA. Their website is a bit hard to navigate and I have had some trouble activating a game code in the past but other than that I love them.

You mean out of the two companies that are actually doing the most to bring gaming to a mainstream audience?

As much as I hate both EA and Activision, I think they've done far more good for our medium than bad. Without Call Of Duty and the various EA sports games I doubt gaming would be nearly as acceptable a pastime as it is today.

While both of these giant corporations are doing really annoying things, neither are to blame.

I mean really, they make a game you like so you let them walk all over you and devise ever more sneaky ways to "maximize revenues, and annualize," content?

No one is willing to say no, and now the industy is in a sorry state.

To whoever says "don't buy it if you don't like it," go jump in a lake.

Whichever company heads the next big entertainment medium (if there is one). Until then these companies still have a vested interest in keeping the gaming industry going, which means they'll never be the ones doing the most damage to it.

Activision, you can see their influence gradually creeping into the non-gameplay parts of blizzard games. Theres too much love for blizzard though for it too stop the games selling like hot pancakes for now but is likely too hurt games if it creeps into their game development. EA is at least trying to develop novel games, even if its not too good at it (e.g. C&C4 and mirrors edge), however this view may change by them trying too force you to use use origin, very likely too hurt sales as people are resistant too using steam which is run by a company people like and has a far nicer EULA. This is a dick move.
