What about gen 4.5 Sega CD/32X?! :B
Vectrex, Turbo Graphix 16/PC Engine!? :U
Don't have a favorite of anything really. All devices manage to swing great games on them.
The one system I see others mention in this forum topic is the N64, I have no love for it, that thing was a mess. The carts held it back, the controller was always clunky and there was about 2 games I like on it that I can go back and play- no not GoldenEye & Zelda. I had one and just didn't like it, it was a glorified Conkers Bad Fur Day arcade machine basically for me. I mean each to their own, not knocking anyones preference here but I just don't like what was on offer much. GBA on the other hand? Hell yes.
(Gonna put a note here that from here below I'm referring strictly to my preference & not stating anything as an objective truth for all)
I think objectively speaking what system got the most use, had the best going for it for me was probably the PS2, cheapest DVD player you could get, backward compatible and wound up getting a lot of stellar games on top of the PSOne library. Lots of local multiplayer stuff, lovely controller and it got used a lot. GTA, Timesplitters, Disgaea, Devil May Cry, Armored Core, God of War, Ratchet and Clank just A++ for games and hardware.
Current gen so far is a joke, I mean PS3 was a crawl of a start with a fun finish but there's just no reason I'm seeing to get a PS4 or XB1. So much of the games are PC ports with a fat price tag on them, then games like Tales of Zesteria is coming out for PS3 was just announced for PC & PS4. Instead of PS4 getting better Vita versions of games, they seem to be being shot over to PC instead. So, me having a good PC for work & games there's just not been any reason. New God of War? Oops it's a remaster of 3, a game that to this day looks stellar.
