I'm still going to assume that by Darkness you mean The Darkness from The Darkness. So I'll vote for that again.
I'd have to choose water.
It seems as though every aspect of my astrological being has always involved water,

I was born in the year of the Dog of Water.
I was born under a full moon.
My Celtic avatar is the Kelpie a/k/a: Aquatic Horse.
Even in RPGs I choose the healer as my favorite, concidering water is usually the healing type magic in most games.

Fire because it's FIRE!!! Come on people!!! Think of the possibilities, see a cute girl(or guy if you're gay)about to light a cigarette then you come in say "allow me." and light it up for her/him, they should be impressed. Another example, power goes out and you need a light source: BAM! Fire. How about if you're taking a test and while you're taking it the paper catches on fire, nothing you can do but re-take it at another time. So many different uses for fire.
Since when is lightning, light, and darkness an element? But I chose lightning, because that would be awesome to shot it out of my finger tips.
I definitely choose wind. I mean, you could do a lot of neat stuff. You could be a hugely effective thief, as mentioned above. You could be a master of all evil who just flies away when somebody tries to catch you. Or you could just be like I would: Fly away from confrontations and do interesting but useless stuff like scuba diving while leeching oxygen from the ocean and blowing a cool breeze every now and then.

I voted Wind as there is just so much that you can do with Air Control that it's unreal. Light was a second choice, but I went with Wind.
Of course being able to control information like "The Drummer" from Planetary would be absolutly unreal.

Well Earth would basically be part of metal because if you follow Avatar then you would notice that Toph also controls Metal and she is an earth bender so by being earth not only can you make a hole you can also make a ball of francium and chuck it into a lake for awesomeness!!!
Wind hell yeh! I could slam people out of my way when I'm in a crowded hallway or when they piss me off and WIND BLADES(not sure if wind blades are possible but yeh I'd kill so many people, try getting forensics on air bitches). When i jump I'd use wind to go further or even fly, I'd jump off tall buildings and use air to slow my descent and most awesome of all TORNADOES and creating vacuums, yeh wind kicks arse. Plus I could use it as a bomb whenever the fuck i wanted, imagine you create extreme pressure in a tiny area, then let it go and BOOM. I'd set off explosions all fucking day long.
