Poll: Which final fantasy?

This probably is the best advice. FF6 is likely the best of the whole series.

I'll third or fifth or however many people have said this. I was going to choose this one but it's not on the list. Also important to remember that, I believe, in the US it was actually labeled as 3 rather than 6.

IX Just had the most unmemorable and boring characters of any Final Fantasy I've played so far. After experiencing such awesome characters in VII and VIII, I was just incredibly disappointed. Characters such as Quina, and Steiner? Wtf..I just really disliked the character art-style. The world was much more impressive than the characters however.
But despite being 4 disks long, I finished IX in about half the time it took me to finish VII and VIII. The gameplay was alright, but I just felt like the game finished much earlier than I thought it would. Very disappointing game, BUT it had its moments, (as every Final Fantasy does).

I agree the character design wasn't much, but unmemorable and boring? Compared to Tifa, Red IIIX, and Vincent Valentine IX's characters-even the ones bummed out of the storyline later on- were godsends. It takes a lot to truely make me dislike an entire cast, and FFVII done it without even trying. I agree on Quina though, I personally have no idea what that was all about.

Tifa, Red XIII and Vincent Valentine were some of the coolest characters in RPG history! Lol. I like to think that Repede in Tales of Vesperia was loosely based on Red XIII from FFVII. They just have a similar sorta combat style and rugged look about them.
Coolest character in IX was definitely Vivi! But there were too many boring characters that weren't fleshed out much at all. Such as Eiko, Amarant, and Freya. Zidane and Garnet were fleshed out rather well, but I just didn't like them compared to VII's Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith, or to VIII's Squall and Rinoa. Despite IX not being my favourite, I still did enjoy parts of the story and setting, and it was a crapload better than the abomination that was XIII!
To each their own though I guess =)

i voted twice since it let me because this list is a tie between 7 and 12. 8 was meh 10 and 10-2 were awful as is 13. but 6 is the best hands down but since it isnt on the list i have a tie between these because

7 had an amazing story and beautiful gameplay

12 was a steampunk star wars game and was all around a great game!
