Well I have a pretty good amount of money to buy stuff ($1245 to be precise), but of course I can only get one game, so which one?

Medieval 2 Total War - never heard of it.
Infamous - this is the only one I have heard of. So get it.

So far its my favorite game of the year. Its totally worth the 60 bucks.

Medieval 2: Total war
That game will last you a lifetime. If you ever get bored of the regular game, there are several mods out there that make it into a brand new game.
Third Age:Total War makes the whole game into Lord of The Rings and is one of the best mods I have ever seen with serious attention to detail and even better gameplay and unit models than the regular game. I thought it was an actual commercial product when I saw the trailer.
Stainless Steel is arguably the most popular mod for the game. It's essentially Medieval 2, except much bigger and better, with many more civilizations, two campaigns(one from 1000-1300 and the other 1200-1500), graphical improvements, and enhanced realism and gameplay.
Thera is a fun mod which combines history and Fantasy. You can do awesome crap like have Roman Legions fight against Uruks and pirates. Bloody awesome.
If you do get Medieval 2, make sure you get the Kingdoms expansion. It makes the game much better and is required for all these mods.

I can really only vouch for Infamous, which by all means is great. It'll keep you occupied for awhile however once you've beaten it twice and unlocked pretty much everything there's really not much more to do other than building hop around occasionally frying whoever shoots at you.
