You know what, I'm gonna go REALLY far back.

The Spathi fron the Star Control series. They are odd looking, nervous wrecks. How they survived so long in space is beyond me. They are one of the alien races I would love to have an actual interaction with.

A close second are the Turians. The love/hate relationship with them and humanity seems to be perfectly deadon. They are intersting, and I'd love to learn a lot more about them.

Space Pirates are the best, sorry but I love me some Dark Eldar. Predators are also fun, but DE for the win!

Psst OP you have over 20 posts you have unlocked the ability to use an avatar, please use it. Sorry, little annoyance of mine ;).

The Orfine.
Because they are overlooked so much.
Cyborg space-dogs?
They are also brilliant pirates. And rather loyal allies. So loyal that they would stand and die with the Terrans when everyone else betrays them.
Can't really beat that. I'd rather have an Orfine watching my back than any other alien.

Seconded.Indeed, its funny how they're constantly afraid of the Ultimate Evil, that lurks just beyond their most sensitive sensor ranges, and how the mere self-induced thought of you possibly considering the idea of torturing one of them makes a freaking starship captain give out the co-ordinates to his homeworld and the secret identification cypher.

But I also like the Arilou as second best, or rather, Arilou Lalee'lay, and how they talk of the Androsynth:

"You must not see. If you see, you can be seen. The Androsynth looked. They were seen. Now, there are no more Androsynth, only Orz."

Pretty much the entire Star Control 2 cast. If I had to pick one, the Shofixti. Those guys blew up their entire solar system to stop the Ur-Quan. That's awesome.

Necromorph's count as Aliens for me.
Yeah they are pretty easy to defeat by just hacking the legs of and then the head (assuming they HAVE legs. Or a head), but an army of Alien Mutant Zombies wins me over everytime.

Really it's the mataray type things that are alien isn't it? The necromorphs themselves are just humans that have been mutated by whatever the ray things inject.

I suppose the infection could effect other races including aliens though.
imagine the strongest race ever krogans with biotic abillities and mutated by necromorphs they would destroy the hall galaxy in 7 seconds lol

lol yeh.
I reckon if they were real (and not so retarded with their culture) they'd be one of the most formidable forces in the galaxy. Especially the 40K galaxy.

not really since in warhammer 40 k THERE IS ONLY WAR!!! and the predators are stealth infiltration units meaning they couldnt handle thousands and thousands of tyranids that ironically are also more of a stealth unit (that's really ironic they attack in giant endless hordes but a major amount of theyre soldiers act in stealth so yeah imagine the best strategy ever stealthy hordes of tyranids)

My favorite alien race of all is definitely the 40k Orkz. I mean come on, you can't beat this:

If I'm not allowed to count the space fungus, I'd go with Predators.

I would have to say, the Piggies from Speaker for the Dead. They
turn into conscious, shape shifting trees when they get old and "dead."

Not only that, but they have totally different mannerisms than humans, and only superficially similar emotional states. Their genes are not entirely similar to ours, using a mechanism that does not correlate with our own (thus making digesting their food quite difficult for us). They have audible languages and mental languages, they battle all the time (in fact as a necessary part of their reproduction), and they live in crazy awesome forest tribes.

And then *sob* they all get converted to Catholicism.
