I've had my Nokia 2610 for about one year now, and with all the new better phones that have come/are coming out, I think it's about time for an upgrade. I've done a little research and asked for the opinions of some of my tech-savvy friends, and have been able to narrow it down to four choices.

As of right now, the four phones, in no specific order, that I'm considering to get are:
- BlackBerry Storm
- iPhone 3G
- Samsung Omnia
- HTC Touch Pro

I've checked a bunch of forums and review sites (CNET, ect.) and they all seem to have their ups and downs.

So my question for you guys is: Out of the four phones I've chosen, which one is the best in terms of:
- Call Quality (Is it soft? Can you hear the people you talk to?)
- Memory (How much internal memory and RAM does it have?)
- MultiMedia Functionality (MP3 files, video recordings, pictures, ect.)
- Touch Screen responsiveness/accuracy (Is it sluggish? If you click 'I' on the keyboard will an 'I' come up? ect.)
- Web Browsing (Fast? Slow? Can it support Flash? Java? ect.)
- Overall Quality (Self-Explanatory)

And if the rest of my family decides to upgrade their phones as well, are there any deals? (Like buy one get one half-off or free)

Anything but the iPhone. If we all band together and don't buy their products, they will all go away. Please oh please don't buy the iPhone and please oh please don't support that Nazi company!

does it really matter? all your going to use it for is texting, calling, surfing the web, listening to music and taking photograph/films all of which they do pretty well. surely it's best too look at which has the best contract deals?

Well that much is obvious, but I've never heard it put that way, and now I feel kinda stupid...
Anyways, while you are right, some phones are a little better than others, and I just want to know what other people think. It never hurts to have a second opinion.

Find the ones you prefer and are most interested in. Then test them out yourself. See what you like or don't like. Apple and ATT stores have the iPhone up for testing. I'm not sure about Storm or HTC touch or anything like that.

Judge for yourself and then make the decision.

I have a phone that calls people. Isn't that all that's needed in a phone?

Agreed.

I've been saying that Apple's evil for years and no one believed me.

iPhone fails at:
1) Calling
2) Surfing the web
3) And taking photographs.
4) It does not take videos.

And iPods have very bad sound quality.
