I am not a current console generation gamer. I own a 360 but I really get my kicks out of getting deals on last gen games.

Today I bought Timesplitters and God of War for under $40 total. It was a sweet deal. Now you try and tell me it's better to buy a $60 "new" game.

Anyhow, both are 3 game series, and I have the first in each, so which should I start with?

GOW or TS?

You, the Escapist, shall decide.

For discussion, please state why you chose the game you chose.

Avoid Spoilers please

Time Splitters definitely. It's one of the best shooters I've ever played, and it's hours of fun with lots of unlockable stuff just like Goldeneye. ^^
A solid argument. Goldeneye is my favourite FPS.

Timesplitters is currently my favorite console FPS but I only own Timesplitters 2.

You should cover it so I can know what the other games are like.

That is right, accommodate me!

Or do it because you feel like it. Either way.

Have to go with god of war, but mostly out of ignorance, as I have not played timesplitters. You should not be disappointed with either, if users are to be believed.

Does it really matter which one you start first? You'll probably end up playing all of them, right? So, i don't see the point in trying to figure out which one to play first. But, either way, I say go with God of War. I never played enough Timesplitters to form a solid opinion.

It's a close one for me, but Kratos 'the ballerina of death' gave me a lot of enjoyment. Mind you if you have a friend to play with you can't go wrong with timesplitters either. Played through the lot of them co-op and had a blast.

Go with Timesplitters. It doesn't get the love that God of War gets though it's just as good in its own right.

I'm a huge fan of God of War. One of the first Hack'n'Slash games I bought along with DMC3. I bought both the second and first one as special editions on the day of release, and I regret nothing. One of my favorite series of all time.

So understand where I'm coming from when I say that Timesplitters wipes the floor with God of War!

The first game is definitely the weakest in the series, but the second one is brilliant and the third one is probably the best FPS ever made.

Here are some of the things TimeSplitters: Future Perfect has that I love:

An hilarious story-mode that features such events as you storming a fort with a British captain during the early 1900s, having you infiltrate a secret corporation that mass-produces robots a few years into the future, or, my personal favorite, going to a mansion during the 70s and fight with Zombies.

Split-screen multiplayer modes with bots! And it also features 150 characters to play as in 15 different maps.

Arcade style challenges you can complete to earn awards.

And the the timeless catchphrase: "It's time to split!"

So buy the TimeSplitters series. Buy them all, because it's the greatest FPS series of all time.
