So, I never actually played on of the newschool Sonic games (Expect for an Sonic Heroes Demo, but I almost can't remember anything) but thank's to an Artist named nicochi I found out that not only the classic Sonic Games weren't about speed also, that everytime someone calls a Sonic Game after Sonic Advance 2 "A step back to the roots" talks complete bullshit.

Take a look at this for example: http://sonicstadium.org/articles/the-crossfire-level-design

Notice something? If you don't believe it, just play the games for yourself.. (Or watch Playtroughs on Youtube..)

Well, anyway, I was asking myself which Gameplay Style you Escapist's perefer?

I guess I would choose the old Style.

Oh, and yes, YAIKS VS. THREAD!!!!1111

Old style. Probably in part due to nostalgia. The old Sonic games were the first games I ever played =p

I hope it wasn't just me who laughed at/noticed that.

Anyway, old. I'm not a big fan either way though.

The old kind, partly due to nostalgia, partly due to not liking what they're doing with the new games.

I know I'm painting a huge target on myself with this, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I prefer the new style. I never really could get into the 2D games (except for Sonic 2, which was brilliant). I really liked both the Adventure games; I thought they did a lot of interesting things and were generally a lot of fun to play. Heroes and after, and the other hand...not so much.

Old obviously. S3&K is a platforming masterpiece.

Although I've always felt the Adventure series was a lot better than it's given credit for.
