Well personally I am perfectly able of thinking for myself so I don't need T.V. to do that for me, and lately I prefer to enjoy myself rather than worry about things too much cause I want to enjoy the life I have instead of wasting it on fruitless pondering.

I'm amazed people actually voted in this poll.

Who knows? What does anime count for? Both and neither. I rarely bother to watch TV anymore (unless it's Mythbusters, Deadliest Warrior, or the occasional episode of Survivorman or Spongebob). Otherwise I'm sticking to my Azudai, K-on, Haruhi, Lucky Star, Gundam, and Shana.

Both? I watch a lot of stuff that makes me think and learn, but I also enjoy watching stuff that is entertaining and doesn't require thinking. It depends on my mood. Also, your poll is incredibly biased.

I prefer media that makes me think. There's more then enough stupidity in the world, I hardly think it needs to cultivated. Spongebob annoys the fuck out of me, and I never did see the entertainment value of Jackass.

I thought the media's job was to keep us stupid and inform us with horribly researched reports and bias such as Fox 11 news and the people who keep ignoring violent behavior in children and instead go after videogames o_o

I've found plenty of media that can make me think and simultaneously be entertained, in fact my favorite things make me do those two things. Watchmen was entertaining, but had me thinking quite a bit about the morality of it all.
