While I'm looking at responses to threads, every time I see somebody banned or suspended I check to see the post that they were suspended for. Generally it's quite amusing but I was wondering...do most escapists do this?

Edit: I know a lot of you hate "Am I the only one?" threads. Please refrain from hate comments(unless you think you'll get banned, then I guess that irony is up to you)

I usually do, especially if I know the person who is facing moderator wrath. I always like to read other's posts, and if I know them, it lets me know more about them.

Sometimes.

If I know the person then I like to see what caused the ban/suspension. Other than that, I just usually ignore it.

I do. Though not out curiosity, but instead a "what-you-should-not-do" example.

Yeah, I usually check it. Sometimes it's just morbid curiosity, but it really does help one get a feel for the forums. I remember when I first started here they were actually really helpful because they gave me an idea of things that I should not do.

Of course I do, that little link is so tempting.

From what I can gather from similar Threads in the past, a fair majority of Escapist do this.
What separates them is the requirement.

Some only click Bans, some Suspensions and Bans, and then you have people like me who click any and all, and variations of such (Like the title of said Thread may make it enticing or dull to them) and so on.

Sometimes I do, and if it's an upstanding member of the community, then sure I do. I'm really bad for gossip like that.

Yes, sometimes. It's kind of strange, they hide the post that got a user suspended or banned, but then every where else that user has posted is an advertisement to the offending post.

Though, I will admit, I find a user that has been banned with no link, far more intriguing.

But the reason I check, is mostly to gauge what should and should not be said. Some are obvious, but other times it's a little harder to discern why a particular post was worthy of Mod wrath when so many similar ones skate by without a second glance.

Yeah, most of the time. Just out of curiousity though and to see if I think they deserved it or not.

I think it's based on luck. Sometimes people will just skip over a post, especially if it's in the later pages of a thread, and so no one will report it. However, you could get unlucky and a few people who are more 'trigger-happy' than others see it.
I checked to see why you were suspended before reading the op as my keybord went spazzy and scrolled down to your post lol what a coincidence.

Oh yeah, I do this quite a lot. On old ones the necessary thread has gone, which annoys me.
