Well, I am a university student majoring in philosophy, so there you go. Funny that you mentioned it specifically.
I'm sorry that you plan on working at starbucks for the rest of your life.

Only kidding.

Maybe.

As far as the OP goes, I think this thread is kind of pointless. The fact of the matter is that a poll of whether or not someone is a student doesn't tell you much about the person. A student could mean anything from elementary school to college and beyond, and saying you aren't a student could mean that you didn't go to college, or you've already graduated, and in all those cases you're going to get very different people with very different views and personalities.
Hey, with a philosophy degree, he can land a good job as a bartender. Why else do you think they are known for giving good advice?

Student and kinda urban I guess. It's urban by national standards, but it's a fairly small city by European standards.

Currently taking a break from reading intracellular signalling after spending almost 6 hours with it and I am nowhere close to finishing. Thank god I will have time to read it during the weekend.

-Student, Bachelors of Science (Meteorology), university near Chicago.
\-(I also have an Associates in Computer Sciences with all the usual fodder-certs, plus specialization in security and networking)

-Suburban (best guess anyway; I live in a small town away from university and commute)

I was always distracted in high-school and quit college b/c I found it boring. Started a company in international logistics and now employ about 15 people. However no one knows(well few people do) I'm actually a latte sipping, videogame geek in disguise. :p My dream now is to buy a nice house in the Swiss mountains where I can just indulge in my favorite pastime all day.

I have vague memories of you saying you were Norwegian at some point.
So.. is this at UiO? Because if it is, there's a decent chance I've at the very least met you at some point.

Student in a city in the Netherlands. I put in urban, even though my city is probably a small city by American standards. (164.000 people, area of a little under 60 square kilometers)
This, basically. Might be a slightly bigger city than that, but still. I'm currently studying Game Technology.

College dropout, because it was boring & I needed to work more hours. I live in a very rural area, I don't have neighbors & it's a 30 minute drive to the nearest anything.

I live on a military base. Technically it is rural (that's what I put) because outside the base is a village and some woods, but it's also an airfield with several thousand people living and working there!

Also.... when do we ever stop learning or being students? ;)
When we die. You should know that if you live on a military base.

Regarding the "technically it's rural" part, note that most real, actual rural locations involve several thousand people living and working. Meanwhile, Philadelphia has a population of 1.5 million, NYC 8.3 million. And it isn't really about the numbers, it's about the cultural intersections and overlapping lifestyles. If you wanted to start a PS4 Fan Club for transgenders with mixed ethnicity, you might be able to get that together in an urban environment and have more than 12 members. I wonder about the airfield.

But It is interesting to wonder if the lifestyle of someone on a military base is closer to that of a student or that of a non-student. What would you say?

"This is the first part of a series I intend to create, adapting as I go."
By starting with more general questions and honing them.

Also, there's a second half of the poll. It's student/community. And for the purposes of where I want to go with this data, they aren't unrelated. And when it comes to views and personalities, I think I know which choice you clicked on.

I'm studying computer engineering at Ryerson University in Toronto. I've lived in the city my whole life, so I put myself down for "student/urban".

Another philosophy student here. Are we that many out here or are we just so eager to point it out?
Welp, here's the fourth reporting in.

I'm in my first year of Philosophy at the University of Ghent, and I live pretty much in the middle of Ghent. I'd have thought living in a city would be really noisy and stuff but my apartment has one of the best locations you can have in this city. It's truly lovely.
