Poll: Who are you using in Dead Isand?

Simple question really?

Are you using the disgraced ex-american football player Logan, the disgraced aussie ex-cop Purna, the one-hit wonder Sam B, the umm... dishonorable spy/cop Xian Mei.

I'm noting a pattern here....

After futzing around with the prologue with each character I settled into using Logan. There is something insanely satisfying about hucking things at zombies. From what I hear (i'm only like level 7) later in the game throwing things doesn't work out so well, so i'm also beefing up his blunt weapons a bit.

I'm currently using Xian; in part because i know everyone will be picking "that one white 'normal' dude" (Logan is the Francis of Dead Island, ain't he?) but also because her specialty are things that go slice. I like to slice.

No, but i generally find bladed weapons infinitely more satisfying than blunt weapons, but that may just be the sadist in me talking...

Well, that and i actually connected with her backstory a bit. Chinese female assassin squad falsely trained under the assumption they would be employed in real field work and were merely window dressing relegated to desk jobs? Yeah, considering China's human rights track record i have to say that isn't entirely unbelievable - they're not exactly the pinnacle of equality.

And besides, she's an Asian chick. Asian chicks are hot stuff.

And she has high heels. That makes those kicks super satisfying in a strange sort of way.

Logan myself.

Went the route of beating faces in than thrown though.

There is just something satisfying in taking a machete and hacking things up. Especially Thugs. Duck in, hack off an arm and duck back out. Duck back in, hack off the other arm and giggle at them trying desperately to headbut me.

Purna. I am quite fond of her Fury move of pulling a Revolver from God-Knows-Where and then decimating an entire crowd of Zombies. I also enjoy the fact that she finds ammo much easier than the others as well, allows me to use my shotty more frequently.

Sam B.

He has one of the worst Fury attacks, but his ability to take hits and his ability to regenerate health make him a rather easy and special character to play.

He actually seems like a bit of a self absorbed asshole

I'm using Logan. First 25 or so levels I was using mostly blunt weapons, Now I throw a lot and use sharp weapons, with a bit of guns thrown in for good luck. Second playthrough I want to use Sam B., but I'm not sure.

There is nothing more satisfying than lining up a infected zombie that is running towards you full speed and using your machete to hack the head of clean in one swipe! Asian chick all that way!

She's a Hong Kong cop. And probably the person of the four with the best moral compass. If anything I'd say she's a reluctant spy. But she seems pretty honorable.

I'm playing Xian, the blades and stamina buffs she gets are a nice combo and her rage ability is devastating. She's right up there with Sam in a heat for best character. She's not that durable but that doesn't matter as much if you play with skill and she's really good at killing things. Lots of things. Really fast. Chopping off zombie limbs and heads is also great fun and bladed items make excellent throwing weapons to boot. I love taking on large crowds with her and having the other players ask "how do you do that?" really satisfying.

Xian Mei here too.
XP multiplier for severed limbs + bladed weapons specialist = WIN!

Started with Purna. Got to level 32. Got bored when the game started putting me in gunfights against humans.

Started over with Xian. Got discouraged when I realised how hard it is to find decent people for co-op.

Overall, I'd say Sam B is the best character. Blunt weapons are nice and he can take a beating. But he's just such a complete dick that I never want to play as him.

Logan is bloody useless.

By the way I don't play multiplayer, the game is too damned easy already.

She specifically says in her little bio that she's dishonorable, shaming the memory of her father is why i said that.
She does seem the least like a crazy person though.

I beat the game as Logan. That boomerang ability is so good.
I think next I am going to play as Feminist Whore Purna.
