I have checked "can you run it?" and it says I can run it fine...
My specs are:
videocard: Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT
CPU speed: 2.54 GHz
RAM: 2.0 GB
OS: XP home edition

I checked the back of the box and couldn't find the 9400 on the list.... can anyone help?

I would need to know more about the symptom. You've told me it doesn't work but what, specifically, is it doing? Crashing stragight to desktop? Failing to draw correct? At what point does it fail? ANY information you have could increase the likelyhood that one of us could point you in the right direction.

Lag can be caused by any number of things. In order of likelyhood:

Video Card
RAM (This can be readily checked - launch the game and then check task manager/perfmon or any of the rest to see if you exceed what's available)
CPU (same as RAM)
Heat

Since the video card is the trickiest to test, I'd start with the RAM and the CPU. If neither seems to be the issue, the video card is the next on the list. The easiest way to check is to ensure the card supports every feature the game is using. You do have an older card (not terribly dated just yet but it's getting there), and it's possible it doesn't fully support a feature the game is using.

That said, a quicky survey of the internet indicates the 9400 ought to work well enough. Assuming you have, in fact, turned all sliders to minmum (including resolution) you may have something else chewing up resources so again, the memory and cpu checks are the simplest.
