Poll: Why don't we have a guides/walkthrough section?

Well i've been with the escapist for almost 2 years now and it just hit me. We don't have a guides/walkthrough section. The escapist is a website for gamers and I understand most questions about beating certain missions can be answered in a blurb by making a question thread in the gaming discussion section. But what if someone wants a more comprehensive guide for doing things? I know you could probably go to Gamefaqs or some other site but personally I'd like to see some escapist user generated guides.

Well Guides tend to ruin the spirit of gaming in my eyes. The point of the game is to play it and beat it yourself and if you use a Walkthrough then your just gonna end up defeating that purpose. And I'm pretty sure we have a user-group that offers this kinda assistance.

I don't mind using a guide for a game every now and then, but only if it's just for a few pointers. Sounds like a fairly good idea to me.

Good idea. Shouldn't be too hard to do, just get a bunch of nerds, give them something to do and there you go.

You know, I think it would be a great thing to add to the Escapist. If walkthrough section were to be added, I would stop going to Game FAQs and register here instead!

I voted yes, guides are helpful, but I try to avoid them, so I would beat games on my own. If I get reaaally stuck for something like several days then I tend to resort using a guide or just googling the problem..

I find them very useful, but I don't really think the escapist is a place for walkthroughs.

Very good idea indeed. I don't like gamefaqs much and good guides are few and far between. You have my vote!

I don't know, maybe suggest it to one of the staff? Or maybe create a group for it

I just use the game-dedicated wikis.

Edit: But yeah, that's not a bad idea. It would be nice to request a little from time to time. Also, bugs and glitches (particularly in Fallout 3) might get in the way of some gamers who can't recognize what they are.
