Alright, you may have noticed that there are a number of times that the Escapist quizzes pose to you...a question based upon the Blade Runner reference to testing a man about his humanity involving the flipping over of a tortoise in the desert. Okay, so why is that? Does the Escapist just really like Blade Runner that much to make it a running gag? Or do you guys sometimes run out of good questions sometimes? I'd like to know this and I'd like to warn you guys...that I am training the tortoises to fight back.

What do you, the random posters, think of all this?

A combination, I'm sure.
A running gag is fun, and means you don't have to come up with as many questions.

Haven't done enough of the Escapist quizzes to notice this but I would like to see a question about flipping over Batman, or rather trying to flip him over.

Hrm... you should get Batman to train your tortoises to fight back you know...

I think you must be an Android not to feel utter disgust at the mention of any animal coming to harm. Mods, please ban this obvious rogue AI.

OT: I have never noticed it, but that's quite cool. Easter Eggs like that can be cool if you get the reference.

Uh oh... Someone's opposing the new tortoise regime. Okay, I'm sending some assassins to your position, but considering how they are, it'll take 12 weeks to get there. So, be patient and your imminent death will come quietly and...gradually.

I'd say the simple fact that the tortoise appears in a great many metaphors and parables is part of the problem

The only thing that annoys me about that question is that, aside from the first time they used it, there's never any "A tortoise? What's that?" or "My mother? Let me tell you about my mother! *bang*" option.

And now I want to watch Bladerunner again. It's only been a month or two since the last time...

Well, the tortoise thing isn't jsut from Blade Runner, it is (or was) an actual question used to provoke a response in that sort of thing.
