People like to badmouth Wikipedia. However, I read a study from the journal, "Nature" that shows that Wikipedia is comparably accurate to Encyclopedia Britannica. Nothing is %100 accurate, makeing Wikipedia a perfect starting point. Yes, you should have additional sources, but...shouldn't you always? Besides, outside of academic uses, Wikipedia is a great reference for random tidbits of information, plus it makes for a great reminder for material you've learned, but need to be refreshed on. I did it for my Statistics work in college all the time. I forgot what some kind of test was. I stuck it into Wikipedia, looked at the article, and went, "Oh yeah, now I remember". Took me seconds at my computer, not minutes searching a book. Wikipedia is great if you remember that its a reference, not the divinely inspired word of God. Treat it with the same skepticism you give any one book.
