A lot of my school projects that don't require me to cite my sources, and that aren't too imporant are basically summaries of Wikipedia Page X.

I have no problem with Wikipedia. It has good information, and is moderated enough that nothing is ever seriously wrong. Even if somebody goes and throws shit at every page they see, it's quickly fixed.

Love the wiki as a chemist i have found that the information there can be obtained quickly and it seems that the people with nothing better to do but play with their willies and change wiki info keep away because the info is accurate when cross referenced

It's fun, and as informative as any documentary...
Besides, you can go on a random browsing trip and waste a couple of hours learning useless crap about random stuff.

Wiki-based tools are important in virtual learning. Using a wiki would be so much better than many alternatives I've had to use in virtual projects, I wish teachers used moar wiki. At least you can see from the logs who's actually doing something and who's freeriding.

As for Wikipedia itself, it's always a good place to start when you're not entirely sure what you're looking for. But yeah, whatever Wikipedia says should be taken with a pinch of salt.

When I use it for college research I find it is bare bones but still there which is amazing then I use text books for the rest. I almost hate it because I waste time on it learning pointless stuff. As long as the editing doesn't get out of hand it will be one of the most useful sites in existence.

I use it as a way to expand the number of topics that I am familiar with. By clicking through many links across many different pages, I am able to discover new ideas and topics that I would otherwise be oblivious to. While the reliability of some of the material may be questionable, it is usually either incredibly easy to spot (e.g. "Michael Jackson is a alien and haz gon on to live with Elvis on Neptune") or the quotation is question lacks a source, which I usually then look up on Google to see if it holds any merit. It certainly won't make you an expert on anything and everything, it can at least serve as an adequate introduction to whatever may hold your interest.

Its great for random pionts of interest, but if your lookingfor complex stuff, the wall of text just makes you fall to sleep.

I love the service, as long as people don't reference it as their only source. And it's always good to know there's a wikipedia article on its criticism [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliability_of_Wikipedia].

Right.

it's pretty handy although a lot of people think it's full of false info cause "anyone can edit it" but really they're just mad cause you're proving them wrong

Just because they can edit it doesn't mean they will. And its not like no one proof reads it.
I use it for school papers but I just cite different web pages without reading them :p

Everything I have looked up seemed reasonable and was written well. Can't complain, because it's had information on every search I've ever made.

I love it for the most part, but I have seen the occasional article that has been decimated by some 'witty' douchebag, the said that some random news-commentator would ride around her the fields surrounding her country home nude on a pony...why would you even bother with crap like that?
