I've just read this article on Gamesradar and it's made me very scared about Bioshock 2. The author seems to think that the idea, concept, story, EVERYTHING about Bioshock 2 will make it doomed to fail. I wanna believe that it will be just as good if not better than the first but he makes some very good points. What do you think?

P.S. Here's the link to the story if you're interested: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/why-bioshock-2-is-a-terrible-idea-/a-20090507142536875076

Eh, im still gonna play it. Despite its flaws, I'm sure i can find SOMETHING fun about it.

EDIT: I'm gonna rent it first though, just in case.

Now you are just being pessimistic. Will it make you feel better if I run off and post how Bioshock 2 is going to be the best thing since sliced bread?

I never got what the big deal with sliced bread was.

Oh right Bioshock, he thinks it will be bad because it doesn't need to be made? Many games don't need to be made yet turn out good all the same.

It will be good, but to be as good as bioshock, it will have to do something to make up for the lack of freshness and andrew ryan, I liked that character.

I'm gonna buy it and I will love it no matter its flaws. (Unless it wasn't in Rapture and wasn't as awesome as it looks like it is)

What made the first game more than just a slightly above average shooter was the twist (those of you who've played the game know what i speak of.) It actually made you think, instead of just blindly walking through the game killing things. I just don't see how they can efficiently reproduce that. The same level of insight either won't be there, and the game will be faulted for it, or we'll be able to figure it out very easily, and the game will be faulted for that. It's kind of a no-win scenario, if you ask me.

Very true. We didn't need a, say, Fatal Frame III, but there it was, and it rocked.
I think the combat looks a lot more satisfying than in the first. Plus, I was always more interested in Tenenbaum, the Sisters and the Daddies than in Ryan and Fontaine, so the storyline autoappeals to me.

Same here. What I wanted to know is WHAT HAPPENED to Tanenbaum, and more about the entire Big Daddy/Little Sister story that was only glazed upon in the first.

Being able to go OUTSIDE Rapture and see how Adam has perverted the natural environment? Sign me up.

If were going to base making a game on rather or not we need it then there will never be another video game again. You don't need games like you need food and water. Games are made because we want them not because we need them. Saying we don't need a game is a poor argument for why it's going to suck. Basing a games entertainment level on how much we need it is stupid. If you go by that scale all games suck because we don't them. Computers and stereo's suck all because we don't need them to survive. See how ridiculous the argument sounds now?

Some people are gonna love it some people are gonna hate it, most of the functioning parts of the gaming community will enjoy it. It will definitely be good, probably amazing. I can't wait for it and want it. It looks like a different but very similar game.

I'm already sure I'm going to love it, BUT one thing I will miss is the HELPLESSNESS you felt in the first one. In this one you're a big bad Big Daddy that can use Plasmids, so I probably wouldnt feel as helpless. But they did mention that the splicers are CRAZIER in this one. XD Which is what I'm wanting. "CALL THE POLICE ON ME!?!?" "WE CAN SEE YOU YA'KNOW!" "JESUS LOVES ME, THIS I KNOW..." XD God I loved those insane splicers.

I don't know....Story-wise it makes more sense coming into this world rather than growing up in it!

It has more of a point to this the present and then what lead up to this anarchial apocolypse on a small scale!

I'm saying they won't win originallty points and story points for the sequal!

There is no way that this is gonna be as good as the first one. I don't want to play as a big daddy; I want to play as a splicer! I'm not gonna get a thrill if I'm the superior version of what is essentially the strongest normal enemy in the game. I want to be crawling through the shadows, setting the stage for each fight as it comes, barely holding together with the rest of Rapture, not plowing through everything.

Again....No it will not fail. However it will not be as good as the first. Because it's not original anymore..it's nothing we haven't seen already..and there's not shock value left. we all know whats to expect. All we have coming to us is a pretty fps with a few lil surprises. Which isn't much to brag about these days. I'm sure the name alone will carry this title FAR. And yes i will probably play it anyway. The only way to make this game a screaming success is take FULL advantage of Rapture and it's enviorments. As if The city itself was a main character that can take damage, deal damage, and be changed to alter the storyline itself. The First Bio and Unreal engine it runs on has made enough money over the years to bust the envelope wide open and do something truly breathtaking. We will see. I wouldn't hold my breath. (no pun intended)
