Poll: Will China Replace the US as the World's Leading Superpower?

Is the US even the world's leading superpower today? How are we defining superpower?

I'd say all of those have the potential to become superpowers, but the future is very difficult to predict. Assuming humanity's still around by then, these are my opinions:

1. China
2. Brazil
3. India
4. Russia
5. Germany
6. USA

But who knows what the future holds.

China may have a shitton of people, but they are undertrained, and feeding all of them isn't an easy feat.

China obviosly, they are the world leading nation already. they have the most advanced weaponry, the most money and the best economic system

No, they don't. (Weaponry wise) Their small arms can eas ily be matched and surpassed by the new line of military assault rifles being deployed by the US.
Nuclearer? If you start a nuclearer war, goverments colapse, billions die, and survival becomes the remaining humans mission. Nuclearer warfare is for savages.
We have better technology in the military, yes, their economy is much better, but economies can easily shift.

Who will take over the world?

Once China prospers enough to make the labor too expensive, most companies will just move on to the next big gig, probably India.

Apparently wages are going up in India, which is leading to more banks setting up call-centres in the country of their branches (at least in the UK). My bet would be Africa, as labour is pretty cheap there.

I think its ineveitable the way its going currently with the US being in such massive debt and most of that debt is owned by China and at any point in time they can say "Pay up *****" and the US will basically be screwed. so unless the US pulls a big U-turn and gets out of debt in amazing fashion the power may shift to china.

Oh don't worry, they really don't want their money back.
Lending money to a government is one of the best investments you can do, safe as hell as a first world nation cannot truly default and with massive returns. It only takes like 10-15 years to get all the money you lent back in the form of interest, from then on it's a zero-risk, zero-investment insanely profitable business.

You know what first world governments do when they're close to defaulting or would have to make cuts they don't want to?
They just borrow a couple more billions and then that's that. Business as usual in a world that mostly runs on non-existent money.

you know china technically owns america, china keeps lending money to the states because they are in debt to everyone and the war in the middle east eats so much money, and with that money that china lends to the USA, USA buys more shit from china, like weaponry, technology and such and china keeps just getting more and more and more rich while USA keeps coming more and more in debt to china. and besides, americas goverment is falling apart, they are losing the war in the middle east, if they do not pull their forces back, the dollar is going to drop to worthless, and the world will be in panic, while china having their own money will be totally fine. and soon in america there will be riots because they are going to have to initialise martial law and such to keep their system intact. on another subject i dont think there will be anymore wars between big countrys like china, germany, america etc. because they are a total economic disaster to the goverment and nobody is stupid enought to start a war because it takes too much money and man power

I waited until I hit 100 posts to make my first thread. Have a look at my join date and number of posts and you'll make a safe assumption that it took my quite a long time. I like this rule.

Well if you look at the graphs yes, but I wouldent say theyll be the superpower just the most important nation, also the amount of time countries spend on top is decreasing so if China does become the world leader it will only be so for about 40 years due to a trend of declineing power and shorter lived empires

No, the US is still on top for the first two. The best economic system is a subjective thing.
