So one of these days I plan on watching all three Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Movies in a movie marathon which I like to refer to as: LoTR Fest 2010. Now I'm completely serious about this thing. I'm going to ask some friends but they must be willing to stick through every minute with no breaks. I plan on stocking up on food and drinks for this event and it will be glorious!

So, do you think I will be able to watch the 15+ hours of great movies? And for those who have done such a task or something related; your insight is much obliged.

EDIT: regarding bathroom breaks

piss breaks: depending on the length of the piss and the current scene of the movie there shall be no pausing unless deemed a pausable scene i.e. battle scenes or important plot structuring

shits: we will pause for you and take a stretch break or restock on food and drink

I've done it. Washroom breaks were included though.

If you enjoy the movies a lot, it's really easy to do. Those are really good movies, and I wish you luck in your quest.

Thank you. I have a short attention span so sitting down for this long will be a mighty task.

In buckets...but seriously we will just miss out on like 20 seconds of action. Shits may require pauses. There are room for amendments in this quest.

yes, its not immpossible but it does prove you as a true fan.

Ive done this but not just with lotr, Ive done it with jurassic park, the matrix, star wars (only the originals), Aliens (we skip 3 because its the worst), were going to do predator when the new one gets a dvd.

Im big on my group movie trillogy nights.

I don't understand, I thought you were watching Lord of the Rings, and to me only the battles add up to about an hours worth of interest.

Honestly though, even if you do enjoy the movies I don't think you will manage without a break.

I think your legs will shrivel up and die from under you or that something will occur where you have to leave. Becuase that always happens, especially when you try something like this.

but hey, more power to you to try.

If I can watch an entire season of Seinfeld in one sitting, I'm pretty sure you can handle a Lord of the Rings marathon.

Should take a intermission between films though atleast. Also helps if you have a non watcher to wait on you. Much easier getting 7 Day Survivor on my old GT when my grandmother helped by bringing me dinner. (Getting it is apparently the same amount of time as your marathon)

12 hours well spent, 12 hours well spent. I should do it again, but this time with Chappelle's Show. Seasons 1 and 2.

Belief in yourself is an important factor. This is one of the greatest challenges a human being can ever hope to complete. You need to be positive for this! I wish you good luck <3
