If I can watch an entire season of Seinfeld in one sitting, I'm pretty sure you can handle a Lord of the Rings marathon.
now that is impressive
12 hours well spent, 12 hours well spent. I should do it again, but this time with Chappelle's Show. Seasons 1 and 2.
Chappelle's Show is great, you should absolutely go for it. That's just hours of laughter waiting to happen

I tried this, but I made th mistake of doing it in a group with one of 'those' people.

You know the ones, that ask what's going on every 20 minutes. Commenting on Realism in LOTR! And explaining how they'd take out a Black Rider. I swear to god I nearly killed them. I got to the end of the Fellowship and had to leave the mighty quest unfinished.

Its easy, just get loads of popcorn (I had about 20 lots) and coke. And make sure if you do it with friends that they're as up to it as you.

"When love(specifically your love for these movies) and skill are combined, you create a masterpiece."

Yes, anything is possible if you are determined enough.

So, do you think I will be able to watch the 15+ hours of great movies?
Isn't it 11 hours?

Theatrical:
558 minutes
Extended Edition:
683 minutes

According to Wikipedia.

Anyway OT: If you allow bathroom breaks and are serious about this then, yeah, why not. Could be a laugh.

Its good. I watched all of band of brothers one night with a friend. If you crap before you won't need to during the movie fest and take a 15 to 30 min break in between movies to go for a walk and restock on foods. That way you can wake up, talk about it or something else and if your tastes have changed like mine do you can get something different ot munch on.

For a chalenge anyone. All of the James bond movies. Thats right all from Dr. No to whatever is the new one. Seriously i haven't seen anyone do it.

I did it two weeks ago with Sky14Kemea, granted, we couldn't watch the last couple hours of Return of the King due to a problem with her versions of the DVDs, but it is possible. You just have to enjoy the movies quite a bit.

Granted, I don't actually know how long the extended editions are, but I seem to remember the directors cuts being 2-3 so, I doubt they added an extra 2-3 hours on to each movie, so 15 hours seems a bit more than what it would really be.

In any case yes, and it's not that impressive either.

I once did this with the Jurassic Park trilogy with no breaks or snacks, I've never had a worse headache in my life. I also managed to watch the original Star Wars trilogy in one go, I took breaks that time though, harsh lessons learned. I even attempted to watch the prequel trilogy the day after, I did not succeed. I believe you can do it, although I think at least a few breaks will be necessary, just do as much as you can during those breaks.

It's difficult.

But it can be done as long as you don't need a crap so badly your bowels start stewing.

And I thought sitting through all of Lawrence of Arabia was hard. It was a good movie but fuck was it long.

And the thirst. I was so thirsty after that fucking movie.

Lol, you should do this and incorporate a drinking game where you drink every time Frodo and Sam have a gay moment.

You can do it!!!

But really, that's nothing much. Me and my friend are going to play through the Halo trilogy with no breaks one of these days. Just haven't gotten enough time off from work to do it. We're going to need to start at lunch, then play through the night until we beat it.

Pro tips: Don't drink too many energy drinks. Coffee works much better.
Take a really cold shower between the second and third movie.
Keep the lights on.
Order pizza. (Just for the lolz!)

...damn ninja's.

OT: I've done it. Me and my friends all agree that The Two Towers was the best.

Naah, the best series are totally watchable in full blocks. I've done it with the first three series of Family Guy, the Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse and a few series of the Simpsons (not all at the same time). I also routinelty do it with BBC comedies, but they're only 6-12 episodes long so it's harder to get excited by that.

If you really like something, it's perfectly possible to sit in one place for half a day watching it.
