The other day. My friend was switching the faceplate on my 360 and he asked me where the sticker was on my 360. He said it was a tamper evident sticker to show Microsoft if I had messed with it. I told him it never came with one and he said Microsoft won't repair it. Nothing has happened yet but if it does get the RROD will Microsoft repair it? Or will they accuse me of tampering? Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice will be appreciated. Also, There is no evidence of one being there.

They'll probably accuse you of tampering. Tough luck.

But if it didn't come with one and you could somehow prove it.. You never know.

I bought some of the tamper stickers on ebay once just to get warranty on something I was fucking with when it didn't come with one.

Depends on the problem with your 360. Red rings of death they probably wont care about but if it's a disk read error or something like that they may get a little bit suspicious.

Still, I'm sure the guy who does the repairs is going to fix a bricked xbox whether or not the sticker is there. He gets paid to fix machines so he's going to try to fix it sticker or no sticker.

Sure, for $99 USD, they'll fix just about anything. Whether your warranty is valid may be another story...

I found some on there as well. If something goes wrong, I'll buy one and place it on there. Thanks.

Microsoft employee: But Jim, we don't even put tamper stickers there on this SKU.

The stickers that you get are just to tell them someone might of messed with it but is there anything on the it that looked like it was on there in the first place?

Also if anything does go wrong they won't repair it, if the sticker is voided.

So I would say ask them about it.

I can use a friends console and copy the location. I've actually put a lot of thought into this.
What does SKU mean?

Not every 360 is the same. They changed the manufacturing process a few times. They tried to reengineer it so it'd consume less power and you're less likely to get a RROD.

I was half-joking, but it's possible that your Xbox just doesn't have stickers there.

Depends, overhere (UK) the Ms repair station is in Germany and they never bother with the sticker as i have sent back a few consoles with sticker moved or even removed.
