How well would you receive a Steam-integrated web-browser, possibly developed by Valve? And by that I mean a browser with tabs for the Steam Store, Community, Game Library, etc. integrated into the tool bar, and of course Steam's chat service in another tab, not another window. Probably no word processing or photoshoping. :3

I use the overlay fairly often, so I'd use it sometimes. It wouldn't be what I fire up to view a webpage if I wasn't mid game though.

The steam browser at the moment is all I'd ever use it for.

Edit: Glad to ruin your pony streak early on. You're welcome everyone.

I dunno, maybe. -Shrug-

I'm in love with Chrome for the moment though. Like really, I love this fucking browser. <3

I wouldn't right away. If it has good add-on support(It's VALVe, that pretty much means it will) and gets a fair amount of ports of what I use on Firefox, I would definitely check it out.

Meh, I'm a Chrome fanboy. (Though I will use Firefox for some things) I use the overlay browser in-game but besides that I don't really have a use for a Steam browser.

Meh, probably not. I like Steam (and digital distribution as a whole), but I'm pretty happy with Firefox.

I have Chrome open and I have Steam sitting in my toolbar. I'm kind of missing the part where this'd be useful.

Nope. Steam already clutters up my game library with it's crap, I don't need it to do the same for my web browser.
Err... isn't that crap your games if its in your library?

I have two screens, all the chats and browsers go on the left side, games go on right side, so I just disable the in-game overlay all together, which also works out because that thing is clunky as hell.

I would sooner use Internet Explorer 6.

But then, I'm biased. Over $500 worth of purchases through Steam (many of them single-player games), and over a year now I have been unable to get Steam to boot up on my computer. That's about $500 worth of games sitting on my harddrive . . . which I can not run . . .

It would remove the need for an extra window/program thing open at the bottom bar (since steam/chrome are always open on my computer), which would be perfect for me, I have an obsession when it comes to having a small amount of windows minimized on the bottom bar .

I think it would be really good to be able to switch from steam store/library to the internets in the same window if it had the same level of awesomeness as firefox/chrome.

I do love me some chrome, but I did recently encounter a situation just the other day where I tried out one of those swanky FTP MMOs on steam, navigated the html registration with steam's embedded browser, then wished I could check my email for the activation code from within steam as I could with a fully functioning browser. Situations like that I think it would be handy for. Also as DazZ said, it would be pretty cool to trawl escapist or facebook when you're waiting for something arduous in-game. I'm pretty OCD about alt-tabbing and optimal use of system resources, so I hate to have to fire up chrome. It would be pretty cool to have a full functioning browser in the overlay with minimal impact on memory/performance.

I'd give it a try, but I'm more interested in a better search system. I have to make a mental list of games when browsing, then go through them one at a time because there are no tabs and pressing back resets the browser to page one.

Also, Valve would have to bring something worth using to consider a switch. Depending on what I need, I currently cycle between Firefox, Iron, and Opera. Right now, I'm fine with having Steam separate for what I use it for.

If it is much better than everything else? Sure. But honestly there is not much they could do that would justify breaking the habit of double clicking on the Firefox icon on my desktop.

I'd use it to go on the Internet mid-game. Not in a game? Firefox. Although the amount of problems I've had with Firefox 4 (after having no problems at all with the previous version of Firefox) has taken the browser down a notch in my opinion.

If the make the steam overlay browser a little faster when loading pages I use it more.
