Even if there were, why would we revolt against the rich, why not the retarded ass political leaders?

Wouldn't that be a civil war?
Yeah, pretty sure that's a civil war.
And no, I don't think that'll happen in the next 50 years. The gap between rich/poor may piss a lot of people off, but it's not enough to make people want to go to war.

Until one side starts actively killing off the other, economic reasons are why we'd have a civil war, if we even had one at all.

I think it is likely. Government corruption is reaching an all-time high. If Obama wasn't black I'd say we'd already be up in arms (seriously, the people were on the edge of revolt when W. Bush was screwing us over but now everyone seems fine with being screwed over).

I'm all for taking an M14 to the pricks in power. I don't care about the puppets like the senators and what not, the men behind the curtain need eradicated otherwise we will end up in the same boat as before.
And note that most soldiers wouldn't be supporting the government. They would support the people, for they aren't mindless drones.
I was a soldier from 04 - 08. I think i would support the goverment over rebels that are rebelling for no reason

The American proletariat tends to be the more supportive part of the US government, so I doubt it.

You mean like the last one? Britain was pretty much the most powerful force in the known world. And there would be support, especially from people who want a stake in the country. Maybe China would happily give up their vast resources in exchange for the American's support of their commu-fascism.

Um... no. First off, that wouldnt most likely be a civil war at that point, since the US doesnt really own territory to revolt.

second, theres always been poor and rich, and at no real time has there ever been a war between them in a sense of an "actual" war (except maybe Shay's rebellion, and the battle of brandywine, but that fizzled, I could see you argue that one).

finally, why? There's a new president in less then two years coming up, so why would people bother now? Yeah, times suck, but its not like its going to get better if there's war.

Anybody that says yes is fairly delusional.

This is why.

Are you actually familiar with the concept of a revolution? Half the time its the country's own army that is in revolt.

Yes, and good luck with that.

I doubt it. The working class in america tends to believe (in the face of all evidence) that they can achieve the same lifestyle that the richest have. As long as they believe that there's not going to be any sort of revolution by them at least.
Its sort of ironic how the people who support the idea of the American Dream the most are the same people who benefit from it the least.

That would certainly use up a lot of the military hardware we've been itching to use, but no, we aren't going to see another military revolution, mostly because the rebels would be so ludicrously outclassed in terms of firepower that it wouldn't go anywhere, unless the military were the ones rebelling. However, I don't agree with all the people saying that it would help the country. Revolution does not automatically mean that things change. I learned a little about revolution when I took Irish Literature, and the major pitfall of revolution is that even if you win, you're going to have the same problems as the government you overthrew but with a different flag flying above the capitol building.

Britain was in a state of financial and military desperation with the forces of most of Europe arrayed against it, in danger of invasion and defeat. Its effort in North America was a sideshow with the resources that remained, a war fought by ex-convicts who had to travel across the entire Atlantic Ocean. This would be sort of like fighting a war on the moon in today's terms.

Your statement is highly inaccurate. The earning and wealth difference between the wealthy and poor started to grow exponentially during the late 19th century - accompanying the Industrial Revolution. Modern tax practices have only exacerbated this growing gulf.

Those Canadians have had it too good for too long!
...You're dropping 500 kgs of snakes eating themselves or is Uroboros something else in this context?

Its funny that everyone keeps saying that the military will squash all possible attempts at a revolt when in the US our military is all volunteer. Meaning those who are in the military want to be there, and if their families are in danger or are the ones revolting chances are they re going to abandon post and fight with or for there families not against them.

My fellow Americans talk a lot about how the country is falling apart. Personally, I don't see it.
I think America, even if it does have problems, is still very well off. I don't think that any kind of Revolution would ever occur. At least, not for a very, very long time.
