I just watched the trailer today.
It seems too ambitious to be able to live up to its own promises. We see this problem all the time these days, L.A. Noire, Dead Island, I Am Alive, Silent Hill Downpour, Milo, Kinect in general all had very cool exciting trailers but for the most part, failed to live up to them. Of course there are exceptions, but I usually keep my eye on the more humble trailers that know exactly what they have, show it in motion, and have realistic expectations.
It seems so negative to discourage innovation this way, but I've seen way too many games fail due to the large scale on which they want to innovate.
But then again I'm just naturally against hype, I find it just easier to wait till the game comes out to decide whether or not to like it. So this is just a prediction I guess.
Also, a bit unrelated, but I find it a bit lame that the main character uses a smartphone for all his tech tricks. I mean I know it's supposed to be the near future, and would make sense for a smartphone to be used, but it seems a little boring that this one device does all of your technology related infiltrating and hacking at the click of a button. I mean in Deus Ex you have all kinds of cool augmentations, in Batman, you have a belt full of interesting gadgets, and this guy, has a smartphone. Eh.
