Dragon Age: Origins left me a bit...disappointed. Retarded party AI, aggrevating difficulty (partially caused by the retarded AI), story that didn't really engage me. But I'm going to try again with a different character and I'll check the DA2 demo out too.

Anyways, I'm going to and try to get through Origins. Hopefully with a minimum of dying...
*snicker* Good luck with that. Just wait until you meet Revenants.

Played the demo this morning and i have to say im not blown away at all the combat stinks it just felt like you mash attack button enemy dies then maybe a special move then back to mashing the attack button.
And the voice acting is like some just dragged them off the streets and beat them with a sharp stick to get them to talk. on the plus side the grafics are better (only just) so all in all the sort answer to you question is ... NO no i will not be getting it.

Let me make this clear. I thought the first one was boring. But the second one's demo was so impressive I will buy it, on sale.

I didn't like DA:O at all (boring combat, uninventive missions, extremely obnoxious companions), and Skyrim looks so much better that it puts Dragon Age to shame really.
We know very little about Skyrim at the moment.
True, true, right you are. Fact remains, I disliked Dragon Age, I loved Oblivion. If I am to believe the news that has come out about Skyrim (I will admit, that it's all speculation), due to trailers or information given out by Bethesda, they have done something about most of the points I had issues with (like the somewhat lackluster combat system, copypasta environments, cities that were just incredibly ugly). From what I've seen of Dragon Age, very few of the problems I had with it are addressed. From my perspective (again, I should be careful about judging either game prematurely) Skyrim is a leap forward and Dragon Age isn't.

These are just my personal preferences and my disappointment in Dragon Age: Origins may skew my view a bit. Still, I'm looking forward to Skyrim and not so much to Dragon Age 2.

So, will you be buying DA2?

Personaly, not until steam offers it dirt cheap with all the DLC. Why? Because i'm a sucker for deals and very thick skulled.
Pre-ordered it eons ago. You need to add an option for that.

Also, I got it off Direct2Drive, which is MUCH cheaper than Steam, at 30 GBP.[footnote]Not including discount[/footnote]

Given how I'm an IGN member, I also get a 15% discount on all purchases. Needless to say, that membership has paid itself off tenfold, or more.

After I played the first one for 45 minutes and couldn't stand it because it was so boring, I probably shouldn't waste money on the 2nd one.

I pre-ordered DA2 for the PC back in November so I plan on getting it the day it is released. I hope it is a midnight release so I don't have to wait till 10:00 AM to pick it up.
