Well, the 3DS is out in Japan, and has nearly sold out already. It's about a month away from releasing in the US, so will you buy one once it's released? I'm probably going to wait. First off, I don't have the funds as of now. Not to mention, $250 is an assload of money. If I'm going to spend $250 on something, I'm gonna get it in the color I damn well want. So I'm holding out until the red and purple ones are released (although I'll probably crack if it's anything more than a year).
$250? I wish. Here, its about 100 dollars more. Hate Australian prices.
But still, I'm gonna get it later, when I can afford it. Damn you Australian prices. Damn you.

I'm getting it launch day and will probably try to sell it on eBay for extra money, which I will then use to buy a new one when Gamestop gets more and some games with it. If it doesn't sell, I'll most likely keep it an wait.
Still playing my original blue DS so I got nothing against the originals =P

I have a couple things keeping me from getting a 3DS on launch day.

First I need to find out whether an R4 (or other card) will work on the 3DS. I have a lot of unfinished DS games that I want to do. I've heard that some R4 cards can be used on the Japanese 3DS with just a quick update to the cards software. And I need to know if using such a card will alert Nintendo and allow them to brick it.

I also need to get a little extra cash before I go out and buy one, and I'm going to wait at least a few weeks, maybe a couple months til I hear if there are any good games or if people find a way to circumvent the anti-hacking measures so some good homebrew can be put on it.

I'll get one when a Pokemon game that requires the 3DS comes out. Until then, my normal DS is fine.

I'm waiting for future releases I'm interested in (Oot remake and a few others) to be released first, I'm not interested in most of the launch titles.

I wasn't planning on getting one on launch day until I saw the AR capabilities of it first hand. Shit that's impressive.

After trying it out. I got to say it is very cool but I'm waiting for the 3ds xl or whatever update they make for it. The 3d function works really well but it's just not terribly impressive on a screen that small.
Not $250 worth of impressive at least.

Anyone serious about buying this really has to try it out first and you'll know what I mean.

Gonna wait a few months, until I have more disposable income and there are more and better games.

I've already got my 3DS reserved at GameStation. I can't wait until friday so I can finally get my hands on it. However Im not going to be able to afford more than one game for it until my birthday, which is luckily two weeksish after, which is good.

I will eventually, but none of the release games look that interesting for me. As soon as either:
1 - It's my Birthday
2 - There's a big price drop
3 - New Professor Layton or Ocarina of Time is released
Then I will get one.

With Kingdom Hearts having a game scheduled on the 3DS, I'll get one. Eventually, since I really can't afford one now.

I love my ds lite and I don't really feel the need to get the 3ds. I'm still in the corner of 3d is a gimmick and I'd rather have a good game than a mediocre game that is in 3d. Now I'm sure some will be great but most likely I will end up just turning the 3d off anyway.

I want to see how the games are and maybe in a year or two when they put out the next version I'll pick one up.

Your damn right I will, but not straight away.

When I have disposable income, and that'll be a few months from now. But it will be mine. A bit annoyed that the battery life is a joke though, third parties better do something about that...
