No, I won't.
I admit I was never a fan of Duke Nukem to begin with, growing up in a post Halo gaming world I just couldn't see the appeal. It just looked kind of stupid, also any excitement I had died really early on when I first heard of that whole 'Capture the babe' thing, of which I still don't like by the way. It wasn't helped when people responded to the accusations of sexism with the standard 'shut up you feminazi sluts, nothing's sexist unless we SAY it is!'
I just couldn't get into it, the jokes sounded awful, the sexist imagery actually turned me off and when I actually saw the demo footage I was in awe of how uninspiring and uninteresting the whole thing looked.
What I'm seeing here is a watered down, standard looking shooter with crappy jokes and some seriously sexist marketting backing it up. I was never a fan of Duke in the first place but any fandom I might have gained met their gruesome end after seeing that demo.
I was also especially insulted when Gearbox tried to argue that the game had to be changed to be 'dumbed down for the consoles'. On behalf of console gamers everywhere, screw you Gearbox. Got to hand it to them though, you have to be pretty confident to casually insult two thirds of your consumer base, worst case scenario being that they become alienated from console gamers as a result.
Finally, Duke, Piss off with 'Hail to the King baby'... that was Bruce Campbell's line and he said it way better then you did. Plus, you die within seconds of being shot every single time... you are not a king.
But still, that's just my opinion and everyone is entitled to like or dislike whatever they want. If you want to play Duke Nukem, that's fine with me... I just can't say I have much interest in it.
