It's gonna really piss off some of the more casual players, though I reckon the hardcore CoD players will stick to it.

Personally I didn't play it much when it was free.

So when I say nothing is set in stone just yet, that means you can call me ignorant?

Read what I wrote.
I think you're arguing with someone else. Little you've said, especially this, seems especially relevant to what we've been discussing.

Have fun.

Hell no, and I'm not buying any more CoD games...
Completely off topic, but it that a Toad in your Avatar image, because that friggin' sweet.

On Topic: Yeah, I have to buy Live again, so I wont be paying for a subscription on top of that. The thing is, while many like minded people here will refuse to pay for essential the same experience as COD has always provided, enough asshats will pay for it to make it seem like a worthy investment, and the industry will follow their lead.

I don't even play CoD any more, so no. Unless subscriptions means that there is going to be a DRASTIC increase of quality and innovative features to justify it, knowing Activision, this is going to be VERY UNLIKELY.

I Voted no assuming the subscription would be for basically CoD with free map packs.

If they made a mmoCoD with its own world with massive maps with more than on battle going on and every one has different objectives (think the new APB CoD style) I might pay for that.

I stopped MW2 months ago, this is more of a reason to not return to the game, if it is true. Besides, Medal of Honor looks real good.

I'm hugely sceptical that Activision would come up with a competent MMO world, it could well be as worryingly unbalanced as MW2 is and I don't really see what they could bring to it that would make it actually work. How do you do an MMOFPS without making it not so much of an FPS...?

And I don't find the current multiplayer to be at all worth paying for so short answer: no, long answer: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

do they expect us to buy their games every November also? they need to realise that their popularity will decrease rapidly and with Medal of Honor (which was always a better game imo) coming out they will have tough competition

Definately not.

I play wow, and enjoy that... but i get service for the subscription like long term gameplay, good customer support, new patches and expansions that make the game seem new, customisable forms of play etc. etc. etc.

RPG games have elements that you invest in, shooters do not.

I have all the COD games, but no way in hell would i pay to play em online. Single player is enough for me.

No, but I don't play it now. I started online games with Black Hawk Down, and with the dozen (if that) maps that CoD has, it is just sad compared to BHD.

Wait and see what they have cooked up first, but most likely no. I'm already paying for XBL, why would I want to pay to play MW2 as well when there are a ton of other amazing shooters to play for free?

the "things they could create", the things that would "make the game even more fun to play", they are just expletives for wanting more money and marketing it that way
This is not fact, this is your spin and take on it.

However, all of the other stuff you posted is certainly interesting and was a good read. Thanks for linking it. Tippl is right of course, gamers ARE willing to pay for extra features meaning it's not a bad business move at all to charge them for them. They could go the chariy Valve route and make everyone happy but they seemed more concerned with profit. It's not surprising really. Hell, what is surprising is Valve's take on the idea.

Not just no but HELL no I don't pay for bull shit, if I did that I'd be a farmer. Jokes aside, Bobby Kotick has a dick up his ass called greed, I swore a blood oath to never buy the map packs that are waaaay over priced. The only way I would pay for this shit is if Patrick Stewart hand delivered me a letter written in gold by the Pope and blessed by Satan and called me "Number One" the entire time, and the letter has to be the words of Bobby Kodick admitting his plans to build some kind of Death Star with all his ill gotten money... and then he has to pay for my subscription anyway because I still don't pay for bull shit, direct your attention to the first line.

I'm not a fan because I could tell something like this was going to happen... I can only imagine how much this would hurt Activision. I'm pretty sure all the money Kotick is making is going to his head and he decided he doesn't want money anymore. It certainly sucks for everyone here and I know that most people who currently play aren't going to pay for it. Way to kill your sales.

I already pay MS for Live and my ISP for internet. There is no way that I'm paying another party to play.

Also, I've stopped buying DLC because it's all massively overpriced and usually half-baked.
