I currently already have Windows 7. It's amazing.

Got the Evaluation version as part of a commercial test. It's as shiny as Vista, and as easy to use as XP.

Windows 7 is much nicer. I'm running the beta right now, and it is more stable than Vista. Much less resource intensive, and loads games much quicker.

Is there less bugs than vista? because i use it on my laptop (right now) and a few months ago it randomly had a system error and had to sent it to microsoft to have it repaired.

None I've seen. It's a much simpler layout, so there is less confusion.

I've yet to do anything serious on it though, like run a full diagnostics test or install a game.

W7 or XP. Vista is shite.

Today I got to compare - XP, Vista and Windows 7.

XP - as we all know - fast, easy to use, familiar.

Vista - ...Ugh. First, I used a HP PC. HP mouse, HP keyboard, HP everything. Even though the PC had better CPU and more RAM than mine, Vista loaded up in... 5 minutes. Then it bombarded me with list of things I can do before I finally managed to start doing stuff. And then zoink, I couldn't watch any movies from my pendrive in Media Player. I had to go look for my trust-worthy SubEdit, just to find out that it shows no video, just the sound of the movie, even after I downloaded every codec necessary. Only Gom Player managed to play correctly... Also, notifications about downloading AND installing new stuff drove me crazy.

W7 - loads as fast as XP, maybe a bit faster, works great... and if it wasn't for 512MB RAM on my laptop, I would install a copy of W7 there, too. But right now even XP is lagging there, and I'm waiting for my 2GB RAM memory.

Go with W7. Get a copy of Release Candidate quickly, then use it till March and buy the original version when you feel like it's worth. If not, switch to XP and enjoy support till 2014. Vista's support ends in 2012 anyway.

Lol, nice picture. what's with the hilter though?
It's Windows 7. What does it look like?

(It's a witty geek humor comic, it may be hard to get for some. It's implying that an interface that's just a picture of Hitler is better than Vista, because Vista sucks that much.)

Windows 7 unless you're on some ridiculously low budget, though even then I'd say Windows 7.

I like how out of 31 votes, Vista doesn't have a single one.

I recently bought a Vista laptop to take advantage of the free upgrade scheme. My copy of Windows 7 should be arriving on release totally free of charge!

Vista's not that bad an OS at all, but I've only heard good things about 7 so I'm quite looking forward to it.

wait to build your pc for a couple months, new stuff will probly come out since it is the fall and that time of year, and get windows 7

windows 7 is honestly what vista should have been and a good rip off of the kde and compiz-fusion guis
