Blur, Race like a big boy.

Personally I love this advert and think it is one of the funniest this year, But... was it a wise move by Activision?

I'd say it wasn't, the punch seemed to take it a little too far.

So vote, Was it wise of Activision to make this ad?

Also tell me if you like the Ad or not by leaving a comment.

EDIT: I know there are much worse trailers out there on terms of violence and gore.. It's just something about the whole contrast between a nice kiddy world and the "big boy" world that seems a little too harsh.

Almost like the advert is giving the message to kids, that if you want to be a big boy Fuck freinds and blow shit up?

Heh, that was a pretty damn funny ad.

Its not going to far. Its on the same line as other ads, some have been much much worse.

Also, it makes me want to buy that game.

Same, I hate racing games.

But.. this advert just makes you want the game, just to feel like a "big boy"

Haha, that's exactly how I feel.
I heard about it from my cousin because the demo is out now I believe, and had no interest what so ever.

But this ad...

Damn, I just wana race like a big boy..

Was it wise to encourage violence? Probably not. Will it get people to buy it? Probably yes. Will little kids upon seeing it punch each other marginally more? Perhaps, who can say?

Definitely a wise decision. It's gotten people talking. Ad successful!

Funny? Hell yes. Entertaining? You bet.

I still think the "lame" game looked better than the "big boy" game.

Oh my word, that was funny. I hope they don't get any negative backlash; people need to learn to take things a little less seriously.

The ad was pretty entertaining, you dont really see much like those anymore; or even very few of them altogether.

I think if this ad offends you, then you do need to come back to the 21st century; where theres a lot more going on then liking drifting and getting offended by something punching a creature named Pinky.

All he did was punch someone... I don't see how that's "going too far".
Neither do I, the point is...

We do live in the 21st century and well these days we cant even show the English flag in England?? In case it offends somebody..

I love stuff like this, an to me ads should be able to do what they like..
But im saying is it wise.. because im sure activision are going to get at least some shit because of it.

I think it's pretty crap to be honest.

The game isn't mature, Forza and GT are serious "big boy" racers, in blur you can attack cars.

Maybe it isn't my kind of comedy but it wasn't funny in the least, I don't find one character punching another one and telling it to shut up, funny.

It showed a cut scene which usually makes me think the gameplay/graphics aren't that good.

Based on that advert I wouldn't buy it. Based on gameplay footage, I would buy it.

i think beating up cute little fluffy doesn't exactly bring the "mature gaming" point across that good xD
so no, i think they could've figured out a better way to do so. this, if anything, is gonna alienate mothers from buying this game for their kid who likes racing game.
can you hear them, the screams in the darkness?
"Oh no, how could a protective and law-abiding mother like me approve of this, my son playing such a violent game, he'll start kicking his hello kitty around his apricot-painted room"
