Sonic Heroes was the worse of the bunch. Shadow the Hedgehog was slightly more tolerable in that it didn't compel me to strangle myself with a controller wire in the same way Sonic Heroes did.

I've noticed that a lot of people on the Escapist hate 3D Sonic games (although that's not a bad thing in any way, I'm just saying).
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were both actually fairly good games in my opinion. Not to say that they could ever beat the original 3 sonic games; nothing ever could. After that, they remade the two for the gamecube and got really self-confident after that, and thus decided to create the worst game of the series; Shadow the Hedgehog. Never give an anthropomorph(sp?) known for speed a gun. More importantly; stop making new Sonic Characters. Sonic belongs in 2D, there's just no way around it. I can't really say my least favorite game in the 3D pool, all I know is that it isn't Sonic Adventure 1 or 2. The series still has its legs; The GBA games were pretty good and faithful, and also added a few new thing to the mix, but just stick with the fantastic formula of the originals. Perhaps a dosage of Megaman-9-Syndrome is in order?
I hated Heroes. Adventure 2 was my favorite, but I hated the machine levels. They're ridiculously impossible to score well in and take way too long to complete. The treasure hunting levels grew on me after learning the locations where they most frequently appear. The multiplayer was great too. Shadow was my favorite character to play with, handsdown. Sonic just annoys me.
When I made the poll, I completely forgot about 3D Blast, and I only picked the first 3D Sonic games to came to mind.zhoomout said:

I remember watching a couple of guys play through all of Sonic 06 (some little thing called 'Let's Play...'). It's kind of amusing that the whole thing became a little documentary about a slow and steady descent into madness. At first they were laughing at the horrible elements of the game and making witty quips, but towards the end they started becoming a bunch of babbling idiots rattling off metallica lyrics and haikus in search of any respite from how absolutely frustrating the last set of levels were.
Seriously, I was beginning to feel frustrated and crazy just watching other people play it. My vote goes to '06.

Eh, personally I have more faith in Black Knight than I ever had in Unleashed.
Someone I know who's actually tried an early build says it's pretty good.

Oh, and I really can't say which game is the worst, since I gave up on the series when I felt the suckage of Heroes.
Adventure is pretty good, though, and Adventure 2 I'd count as great.

See, I'm the only one that voted for Sonic Adventure 2 cuz I gave up on Sonic after that game. They need to make a sonic game like GTA. Where you can run everywhere at superspeed and hit people and stuff! Rob banks at the speed of light!
