Commercials feed us bullshit everyday, but I saw a commercial so outrageous that it almost had nothing to with the product which was a cell phone. Allow me to summarize:
The commercial starts off at the inauguration of 57th president of the United States, because when you think of cell phones, you wonder who will be the president of the United States in half a century. Anyway, the commercial starts moving backward in time through the president's life. We see him go from an adult to child but it doesn't stop there. We go all the way back to present day where we see the president's dad standing outside the train when he sees the president's mom on a train. This where the cell phone comes in and the commercial is already more than half over. Presidential dad uses his phone and buys a ticket on the train so he can meet Presidential mom. The commercial finally shows us the phone and then ends.
If you're still confused, here is the super short version of what the commercial is implying that if you buy our cell phone, you will not only meet your future wife but your child will become the president one day. I have seen commercials where hot women jump guys just because they smell good(body sprays). I have seen commercials where gum gave people the ability to make the best of a worse situation(Mentos). But a commercial that is trying to sell me a cell phone tells me that I will not only meet the love of my life but tells me our child will become a world leader takes the cake. I can't even remember the name of the damn phone because the commercial was so damn ludicrous. It has tried so hard to impress me that it made me forget the name of the product. This commercial is EPIC FAIL. If you can top this example, please do. I can't find the commercial but I assure you it exists and it takes itself absolutely serious.
