Just wondering did you mean the anime series or the manga or OVAs/Ultimate series. The orignal anime series wasn't very good.Verp said:I dunno -- I consider Hellsing to be quite a boring series with semi-interesting designs and concepts, so I guess it could at least fare better in a different medium than its original one.
AngelicSven said:Well, Seras would defnitely need to be main character. It could possibly be a fantastic game but I can't shake the feeling of Devil May Cry gameplay would be it's mechanic. Also, as awesome of a series it is, it'd probably just flop.Actually, there was hint from the directoralrekr said:Don't want to spoil this for you but...C117 said:You could actually make it work, even if the player has to be Alucard. I mean, the game could picture how he came to be so incredibly powerful, it isn't really explained in Anime (as far as I know, anyway).
Alucard = Dracula
Van Hellsing counldn't kill him so he enlsaved/imprsioned him. Not sure which Hellsing decided to use him as a vampire hunter. Though Integra's dad Arthur did use Alucard as vampire hunterThough this is all theorycrafting as I don't recall he's revealed as either.that he was actually Satan instead of Dracula.
Don't forget that the Hellsing family, upon ages overtime, trained him, and probably did some biotic expiriments to make him the most powerful vampire. They say that a large amount of times that they did something.Zorg Machine said:[Alucard back story
Alucard was enslaved in the ottoman empire as a child and later became a powerful warlord and fought the turks as revenge. He went completely insane and executed people left and right and his army was defeated in the end. his execution was ordered but before they got around to it he drank the blood of the battlefield and became a pure vampire and slaughtered the turks.
centuries later, he was defeated by van hellsing and becomes the servant of hellsing.
there's also some stuff about silver crosses and sodomization but this is roughly the story
OT:A game would be awesome.
I've watched the original anime series once, Ultimate about halfway, and read the manga somewhere halfway, twice. Both were failed attempts to finish the series.alrekr said:Just wondering did you mean the anime series or the manga or OVAs/Ultimate series. Dosen't matter if you mean the manga as your entitled to have an opinion
Well, it does take a rare taste for splatter horror and gore. And its..Twilight equal for lil'boys, no?Verp said:I've watched the original anime series once, Ultimate about halfway, and read the manga somewhere halfway, twice. This sounds good but it wont happen.alrekr said:Personaly I think it could work and here's some ideas of my own about how it could work.
Well the manga and the ultimate series has great potential. Problem is if it was made into a game it could easily fall into the trap of making the player the all powerful Alucard.
Solution: Make the game centred around the Wild Geese lead by Pip or even Seras as she isn't very powerful until late in the series. There could be sections where you play as Alucard but not all the time and make them a challenge e.g. the fights that could have killed him e.g. Anderson, Walter etc...
There could also be some decent multiplayer. Players play as either members of Hellsing, Iscariot, Millenium etc... Now main characters such as Walter and Alucard could be computer controlled and slogging it out while the multiplayer is taking place. Meaning say your caping the point. Then Alucard gets near you and starts to trash your shit. Now Walter could step in and distract him thus moving the fight away from you. These main characters could be playable like the way it is done in Star Wars Battlefront 2. So I guess the multi would be like Star Wars BattleFront 2 but with buckets of gore.
A cover system could work. There could also be classes I guess. Customisation would be needed e.g. you can make a charater for each faction. Higher level chars get access to say wild geese outifts say. Higer level/top of leaderboard for that game players should get priority over being offered being able to play as main charater for that round.
Maps could have special trigger events e.g. say Seras is impaled agaisnt a wall with bayonets, a player from the Hellsing faction could remove the bayonets thus making her an active part of that round. All these central charaters could be incapped but can become active again after say player interraction (like in example above, after a time limit or even after some enviromental/random event.

Oh, I do like gore and splatter horror. The thing is though, Hellsing just doesn't do it for me. I like violence when it's undignified, primal, and simple like a violent sneeze -- not when it's drawn out, choreographed, and laden with vampire mythos and whatnot.Popido said:Well, it does take a rare taste for splatter horror and gore.
