Poll: Would multiplayer FPS Games be better without snipers.

Snipers certainly fit into some games, TF2 being a prime example. Some games I suppose it could be good though... 'I don't know.'

In TF2 2Fort I realy like sniping snipers. See who is better. Don't care about anyone else, just kill the sniper.


In CoD i love sneeking behind them and killing them, they are my favorite target. So easy just camping there.

Don't play that any other fps anyway.

90% of people who try to snipe just do it because they think sniping is "cool" and of course there is the myth that sniping requires skill, which is a load of shit, because it doesn't require any more skill than run 'n gun does (if anything it requires less skill)

I enjoy being the guy you didn't know was there. So, I'm either Sniper or Stealthy SMG'er. Being a run'n'gun AR'er is fun too, but not as satisying as getting the drop on people that didn't know there was anything they could drop.

Absolutely. While we're at it, let's get rid of 'nade launchers too. And silenced weapons. Screw it, let's get rid of everything and make everyone stand still lined up against a wall, unarmed, for the "I don't like dying" brigade to pick off at leisure.

Sorry, but I get pissed off with this same old question being brought up time and time again. We all have a pretty good idea of what classes are going to be available when we buy the games (or we ought to before we part with £40+), so complaining that you haven't figured out how to counter them is a pretty pointless exercise surely?

Operation Flashpoint, for what it's worth, is probably one of the better FPS's out there for balance and whatnot and is criminally under looked IMHO. There are still snipers and toobs in it, but it's not as arcade-ish as your MW2 stylee-games and the balance is far better for it.

No, snipers are necessary. Also there are ways of getting rid of a sniper they aren't invincible killing machines.

No-one's yet mentioned how broken they are in COD:MW2? How they can be made pin-point accurate at any range by the simple expedient of just holding zoom for a split second and firing before the wobble starts?
