Once I learned of the situation (granted that it makes the news) I'd gear up, grab my big sword (or staff if feeling merciful; or both ) on the way out the door and dial up my mates. Would take maybe an hour at least to meet up and go on from their.

Following standard party procedure and stereotypes one of use must be the the guy who's gonna betray us, another the love interest, and lastly the dude who says "after this is over I'm gonna get married".

Just to get it out of the way before hand. And for lolz.

Edit: One of my friends just asked if were gonna sync our watches and set our ringtones to the FF7 victory theme. Again, for laughs and in the best effort to invoke as many tropes as possible.

I wouldn't do it voluntarily, but if I was the only person, then I guess I'd feel obliged to. I'd certainly try my best, but I wouldn't be happy about it. My philosophy regarding being the hero, or saving the world, is somewhat similar to Jim's. As in the disgruntled main character of Mogworld.

Here's a question. If you had the chance to save the world. Let's say that some evil force from outside our universe came and you were the only person who could save the world. Would you do it? Why or why not? Would you do it happily or would you grumble about it?

I personally would, but barely. To be honest, it'd take a lot of goading to do it. It sounds jerk-a**ish, but I can't help but have nothing but disdain for 99% of the world nowadays. Sure, it's generalized, but after everything I've seen and heard in my 22 years on this earth, I can't help but feel a generalized hatred of just about everything.

I would do it happily. Even if it required my life, I would try to do the best I could to perverse the world we live in. While it's not a perfect world, it's still a place I call home, and billions of others also call it home. To me that's worth fighting for. <3

Now THAT is what I call a Freudian slip! Did you mean "preserve" or do you want everyone in the world to be "perverse" so you can have your way with them...or theirs with you? ;-)
