After the atrocity that was GT, after seeing what they did with DBZ Kai, and considering that I feel like the show should have ended with Cell (or, better yet, Freeza) no.

We have DBZ abridged now. And hopefully, after that, Dragonball Abridged.

DBGT was not good. It spiraled into some cosmic hard to understand plot that they would just pull out of their ass.

I have seen a Dragonball Abridged, but it wasn't done by TeamFourStar and wasn't nearly as good. It did have at least one funny idea in having the dragonballs talk (mostly to each other after the episode was over). Personally, I watched a few episodes to see, but I guess I'm spoiled by the quality of TFS, so I couldn't enjoy it and stopped.

On a related note, I'm always surprised by the number of people that know and enjoy that show. Went to an anime convention a while back and found that it you quoted it, someone would always respond. There were even a couple guys dressed as DBZ Abridged Nappa and Vegeta.

I only agreed to it if Toriyama himself is behind it or approved by him.
I mean I read GT was orginally suppose to have a child that look like Goku as the main character not Goku himself but he change it due to some demands.

Not really, no. The fights are dragged on for WAAAAYYYY too long, and it's more or less repetitive.
How many Dragon Ball Z characters does it take to screw in a light bulb?

One, but it takes 5 episodes.

No, but I would like to see a new series by the same writers/artists/and so on with new settings and characters, but it would already have that familiarity that you have come to expect. Maybe base off of a different folktale from a different country (Like how Goku was based on the character from "Journey to the east") and see where it goes.
How about this: girl noses around in her grandpa's basement; finds a wrapped-up legendary sword called the "Heaven Blade"; sword's blade shatters and scatters across the world; everybody wants the sword; girl has to fix the sword to save the world

Pretty much the tales of King Arthur and Excalibur through the lens of Toriyama's imagination.

I didn't find anything particularly objectionable with Kai. Kinda sucks that the new composer Kenji Yamamoto for Kai was caught with plagarizing two tracks for the Cell saga, but his music was still pretty good. Other than that, faster paced story, improved voice acting from original cast as well as some newcomers, and a more accurately translated script.

Should there be a new Dragon Ball series? No, not unless Toriyama himself is doing the writing. GT was an abomination.

What was so bad about Kai? If anything, I actually enjoyed it more than DBZ. The Funimation voiceovers were much more refined, and the show was half the original length.

GT sucked. The series was at its prime in Z pre-Majimbu or whatever the hell that fat fuck's name was. Leave it be.

I wouldn't mind an early Z remake with modern production values and better mini-arc pacing, though.
