I never sell or trade in games you seriously get bugger all for it well unless you have a rare collectors edition or something and find a private buyer so that dosent affect me.

As for not being able to buy used games well usually I buy games new but months later so they are dirt cheap often cheaper than their second hand equivalent but for really old games I do buy used you cant really get them any other way unless you pay a fortune.

I wouldnt like a console to lock my games to a system I already refuse to buy PC games that have DRM on (so I buy bugger all PC games) because I hate that policy I like to take my game round to a friends house and have a few games its bad enough that you cant carry your saves over very easy because they might get free achievement points or trophys or some shit that dosent matter.

If they locked down consoles even more it would become almost as dead as PC gaming to me. I just dislike having my options restricted even if the odds of me doing something like selling a used game is extremely slim.

Considering that most of the games I currently own are preowned I would have to indefinitely say that I would not buy any such console. Fortunately, Sony and Microsoft would have to be run by mentally retarded chimps to release a console like that.

I own Steam. Just saying... you can't sell used games. Yet I use it. A lot of people do. Hasn't caused the death of the platform yet.

Also, the court really needs to properly hammer out laws on ownership with regards to digital media.

Master Race checking in. Well, I've had consoles in the past, and I've never really traded in used games to any great extent. I've almost always bought new and kept ahold of everything I've bought. I don't think the lack of this option would put me off. OTOH, it'd be a dick move.
I don't sell games either, but not being able to buy used games would put me off. If the prices were lower, like they are on steam, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

PC Headshots all consoles here> lol.

But seriously... PC is just awesome, just takes some managament to get around everything working fine. But its worth it.

The only way the PC can realistically lose its aganist exclusive console games. And even then... Thats only delaying the innevitable via emulation. lol.

Probably not. Laptop/WiiU combo can service my gaming needs just fine, so I have room to reject a console out of principal. I'd rather the company that is trying to do things right and messing up (Nintendo) than the company that is trying to screw me over (Whichever of the two would implement this.)

While I'm master race now, I certainly wouldn't consider or endorse buying a console that restricted used games. It is the ultimate insult to consumer rights to refuse access to a used product.

Yeah, I would. I don't buy used games or sell my old ones anyways. It's a complete rip off in Sweden.
Did it once with ~20 games for my 360 that I figured I never wanted to play again. Got 1000SEK(around £90) for them(bought the games for 200SEK each on average) and was able to buy four used games for it.
Our game prices are ridiculous though. New games average around 500SEK. Have been buying my games from the UK for the past four years due to that.

Also, the moment I got home from selling those games I regretted it and wanted to play them again.

Well, I already buy Steam games (which can't be resold), so I wouldn't be that bothered.

But it would make me less likely to buy games in release week, in the same way that I'll only pay top dollar for Steam games if I'm pretty much certain I'm going to love it.

There certainly have been some places where a lack of used games have worked well for consumers - I mean, look at Steam. So, because of that, I say yes, but only on the condition that prices are lowered significantly and all games are available digitally from day one.

If this causes the console to be 'online only' however, then I certainly won't be buying it (looks suspiciously at 720 rumours.)

I'd never buy a system that blocks preowned purchases. I find many games impossible to actually acquire about a year after release without getting it preowned, and I'd rather not have my library restricted by the amount of copies by local retailer ordered. Hell, I couldn't even find a copy of MGS HD Collection in store.

I wouldn't because i'm poor and i rent most of my games. Blocking used games pretty much means blocking rentals too, so i would be pretty screwed. Along with the entire company i rent my games from.

I buy games very rarely, and when i do i'm sure i'm going to like them, so i always buy new to support the developer, but without rented games i would have to stick to my PC and wait for steam sales. Or buy a Wiiu if gamefly is still alive after the block.

I probably would, yes. That said, it would require the available games to not only be great but also exclusive to that platform. If I could get the same games on a different platform that did not lock out used games, I would choose the one without the lock.

Also, if there was no option for a platform with no content locks (say, the PS4 and 720 both lock out used games), it wouldn't deter me from buying either/both of them at all.

I'm not going to buy the next gen console if I can't sell my games. Paying 60 dollars every time I want to play a game or being forced to rent is not an option for me.

Depends. Ill buy an Ouya and technically theres no method to sell the games. I would do so on its principle that it is an open source-esque device and as such good for the industry.

However if a major corp like Sony, MS, Nin, Apple(LOL like I would buy an apple product anyway)Google, Steam, etc I would not because their motivation for doing so is not to benefit the customers, but to protect their profits by working around legal consumer protections and/or pushing the industry into a subscription based service rather than the products that they are.
