The major flaw in asking this question is that you DON'T have a choice. Anyone who has to come out as gay comes to accept the fact and is happy with it, but given a choice, virtually everyone would choose to be heterosexual. Just like an amputee is happy with their situation, but would have chosen to not lose a limb.

I mean, I'm gay, but until I came to terms with it, I wanted to figure out a way to still have a wife and kids while enjoying gay sex. Backwards, I know, but that's how I thought. I think this thread will find primarily frustrated heterosexuals, depressed homosexuals, and a few people chiming in that they're bisexual so that people will look at them.

I'm joking about the last part before someone bisexual unloads attitude on me. :)

My mate is gay and once told me that, if it were possible, he'd change to being straight because there's still so much of a stigma and struggle with being gay. I think he was being a tad dramatic; as far as I can tell, being gay is extremely accepted by our generation (not so much our parents', though). But I can't say that confidently without being in his shoes
That's probably his problem though. It's not our generation that's the problem. It's all the old fogeys who are still in power.
If you'd like to know how far we still have to go, gay people cannot donate blood, let alone marry, adopt kids, join the military, or keep their job or housing for being gay (at least in the US in all 50 states).

Why do you think we're all still pissed off?

I don't see the point with some of those options.
If you want to be gay, you're already gay.
But bisexual, however, could be a logical choice.
I mean, you retain your current preferences, be it gay or straight, while still widening your strike zone.
Your post tends to suggest you think sexuality is a choice. Am I correct in thinking that? Or have I misunderstood what you're saying?
No, I meant that in the hypothetical sense.
As in, if it was a choice.

Like I said, it's all the old fogeys who are in power that are stopping progress. I've yet to meet anyone in Generation X or Y that doesn't support same sex relationship equality.

You know there are drugs that you can take if you want to be asexual o.o

That being said I'm not sure ... am I asexual if I desire closeness rather than sex per se? x.x Like just to spend a night being held is preferable to 3 hours of lovemaking o.o Is that technically asexualism? <.<

It's a bit of a weird question (no offence), generally sexuality isn't really thought of something one just "changes". For the record, I'm perfectly happy with who I am (Bisexual).
Well, this is mostly theoretical. If science offered you the option, would you do it? That's pretty much the question.

OT: No, I wouldn't. I am comfortable with myself the way I am.

while i would prefer to stay heterosexual (looking at girls is the most inexpensive hobby in the world XP!), i think a world where everyone is bisexual would be interesting. No-one would be limited to being attracted to only half the people on the planet (yay for choices!).

If I were to choose, I'd choose Hetero or asexual. Hetero to eliminate any nagging doubts I may have about myself, or asexual, in order to not be bothered by sexuality at all; which would be pretty comforting.

I'd like to be bisexual since it would essentially double my chances of getting laid.

No, I'm happy enough being gay/a little bi (but not much). Whilst many guys can be hot, I can't imagine wanting to be in a relationship with one.

I'm happy with being Nonsexual, thank you very much.
I wouldn't change it for all the money in the world <3
I'm pretty damn sure I wouldn't be able to if I tried >.>

I'm gonna opt for bisexual. I'd rather face the bias of homophobia then the judgement of being asexual, which I am. Less legal issues, incredible amounts of social issue. It's very hard to want to be with somebody in every sense but physical and have them be okay with that for the rest of their lives. They take it personally instead.

I'm a straight guy, but I'd love to become a lesbian.
If that's not a possibility, then I'll stay as a hetero guy.

I'd love to be gay, instead of "Oh well I'm technically bi, I think girls are attractive but I wouldn't wanna sleep with one or anything so functionally gay you know?"... which is what I am.

It would save a lot of words and explanations, not to mention how much easier life would be if sexuality was black and white for everyone =P

That's nice, but what's your sexuality? (PROTIP: heteronormativity fails)

Queer here, and no desire to change.

Normal? I resent homophobia... There isn't a "Normal" sexuality.

And no, I wouldn't. I'm happy being straight. I don't see any reason to change it.
Also, unmodified Easy Streets post.

Just to explain, i used the word "normal" for entertainment purposes. You are too easy to manipulate, peeps.
To make it clear, obviously i am straight.
