I'd never eat a buddy, really. But if he died, and his body was composed of materials that are composed of nutrients that humans can safely ingest, then sure. I would.

On the face of it I'd say I'd eat any non-poisonous/toxic/acidic creature I was stuck with to survive, possible exceptions would be if they where a good friend (all my acquittance's better sleep with one eye open), or if I thought they where a better person or just more useful to the world than me (doctor, scientist, the pilot to get me off this god forsaken rock, ect...).
On a side note having just watched Prometheus the idea of eating an alien life form isn't all that appealing.

Hell no. That'd be literately eating half of the labor force keeping us alive. I would think my friend is more valuable to me then as a meal for a few days.
Does the value of eating him outweigh the value of learning about this new species? I would rather eat a human. If I eat this creature then all that's left will be their skeleton and my poop. Seems like a waste.

If I got hungry enough, sure. Not like I'd be rational enough for it to be a moral dillemma at that point.
