tbh the devil watches over all those who have commited things like murder right?, and really the devil isnt really evil hes just kinda like a warden at a jail in my eyes, so im gonna side with the dude who really wont have any qualms with me unless im evil and has an army of murderers at his side, plus if you belive some extream christions being born is a sin which you would be sent to hell for so, the devil holds controll over every human ever born...that sounds like pritty fucking good odds =D

So I am sitting at school bored as hell and pondered a question if in the middle of the night the devil visited your home and asked you to join his army in the fight against god during the apocalypse would you join him or would you side with the lord and savior and son of god again not meant to hate on anybody or anything just a question.

First of all, since I'm not Christian, I'd be very confused by all this.

Second, I'd have to see both their offers. I can't make a decision like this without knowing the benefits, pay, and what both stand for. And not their PR either - I'd want to get to know both participants.

I was thinking of going to a planetarium with the devil, and maybe going to temple with Jesus. I'm not Jewish either, but I'm pretty familiar with the religion (having dated some Jewish people over the years) and I figure we'd have a lot to talk about.

So, after all that, I'd make an informed decision, rather than this slap-dash affair. Also, I'd need to check with my deities and see if they were cool with all this.

Well, that depends on the devil in question.

The old testament devil was the guy who hung out with god daring him to do crazy shit. Look at the story of Jobe - god and the devil are just sort of hanging out. Even in the new testament, all the devil does is grief Jesus a little.

Revelations - that's the scary devil. And that's mostly because he was a thinly veiled metaphor for the Roman emperor Nero. (if my history serves)

Does the irony behind this occur to anyone? Christians or for the most part fundamentalists and heretic christians always encourage you to (and by that I mean scold you if you don't) to believe in Christianity but these people are scolding you because you DO. I just want to make it abundantly clear that Atheists can be heretics too.

yeah.

I would side with Jesus in a heart beat. Nothing good can come from the Devil, for his offerings always come at a price. You'll be lucky if it is based on a worldly matter, because in most cases it involves selling your soul. I value my soul and wouldn't ever see myself working under someone so evil to be known as "The Prince of Darkness".

Besides- (This is me being a Christian) Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I owe him my life after the next, so I would side with him even if I wasn't Christian because he is a very noble, holy man. No offense to anyone just this is my honest opinion. Glad this Thread was brought up, because in school I usually am to busy to even have thoughts or free time at all Haha.. *sigh*.

This poses an interesting question. Suppose that when lucifer revolted, he wasn't cast away. Suppose Lucifer was triumphant, and god was sent down to hell. Meanwhile, Lucifer, the guy in power, has humans write the bible. The real benevolent god is actually down in hell, as the "devil," and the devil is in the sky, pretending to be a real god, and claiming benevolence while causing the evil in the world. Notice how the devil never kills anybody, but the man in heaven has supposedly killed the entire human population and then some.

Actually, screw it. I'll take whichever one gives me weed and virgins.
