Ussually however with anti-choicers etc.
If you want to say that your whole argument goes out the window. The whole "kids dying" angle has been the apex of your argument so far. that's how they stand on abortion. how is what they are saying any different than what you are saying? BTW Not to say I'm "pro-life" nor am I "Pro-abortion".

No,
I'd call child services. They'd take the child to hospital and the parents to court. Kid would probably be taken from their care.

That's not kidnapping. That's called saving.

You are saving the child from some people who are directly trying to kill the child.

Why? For being too true? Not going in ridiculous apologetic language used solely by a bunch of horrid religious extremists?
The anti-choicers are the ones who want to ruin lives and harm people. Any claim that they care in the slighest about any life outside of their own selfish gain is ludicrous.
Not all religious people are zealots. and I may be missing something how are these thing "their own selfish gain"? no one "gains" on bigotry.

I believe my original stance has been missed I believe that a person has the right to do what they want unless it hinders others form doing what they want. To say that "Gays are evil" is wrong. but so is saying "religion breeds hate". Your lumping religion as a group of bigots, is a bigoted statement in itself. not to say they not some, just not all.

Seems unnecessary. I really don't like kids. I also don't think that I know better how to raise a kid than people who actually have to, even in cases of gross negligence. The kid successfully made it through life to that point in time and I had nothing to do with it, so how should I "know what's best" for the child? Too many people around anyways and I don't particularly care for the crazy variety, which if the kid survived, he/she would most likely become.

No. Whats the point? What would i do? Where would i go with that kid? I would get arrested soon and it's not like hospitals are like mcdonalds, 'one cancer treatment for the kid, thanks!'

No. While I would feel bad for the kid and be trying to get him help, the reality of the situation is that I would get arrested by the police long before I could provide any miracle help to cancer. That shit takes months of treatment at best to have any meaningful effect if it is going to have one at all. The police would catch up to me in less than a day, since people tend to get rather worked up over kidnapping and the hospital staff have no reason to protect, since they are then considered accomplices. So yeah, logic of the situation says calling child services is the better plan.
Also, some people may want to forgo any treatment at all. A lot of doctors who are diagnosed with cancer actually undergo no treatment because they know that generally the best case scenario is a couple extra months of living, but living in pain, nausea, fatigue and being generally uncomfortable. Just putting that out there.

Usually its too late to call the police by the time they know whats going on. Go google search "Child dies because of parents religion" All of them are put in court for child negligence. If the police were informed the situation would of been resolved.

I wouldn't take too much from Family Guy, while an funny show it should never be taken with even the slightest scrap of realism.

______

Still if the police did nothing, if social services did nothing. Then yes possibly I would. I would have to pay for his medical care with no insurance. However, I'm sure once the media got a hold of the story I would be branded a hero. Or possibly go to jail for 25 years...

It's not my responsibility. I'm not here to go around taking care of everyone in the world being screwed by their parents. I also plain don't want to.

They'd get called in, the parents would probably make a fuss and start bitching, similarly religious people would protest and stop the police getting in, then the media turns up and the story ends up as "Government Wants to Stop Religious Beliefs in Your Own Home". Then the kid dies.
You know that would happen.

Not in Sweden :D
(seriously, they would be taken from their parents. And people would say that the parents are abusing the child)

Nope. It will get me sent to jail and the kid straight back to the family. Nobody's going to believe a rambling person coming to a hospital with a small kid claiming he/she has cancer.

Don't worry Madeleine McCann aint dead yet..

i like it when she scratches..

(i better put a disclaimer because some people are fucking tools "this is a joke, done in dark humor")
That's not dark humor, and any kind of humor. It's shock, and it's cheap.
not cheap i paid good money for that line.
Son... you've overpayed...

And to answer the OP, no. I wouldnt kidnap the child to save/her/his life, but I would beat aome sense into one of the said parents, before offering to drive them to the hospital for the childs treatment... and the one parent's treatment for "falling down the stair, (beat) seveal times..."

Yeah child protective services is probably the better idea.
Considering how kidnapping of a child of any kind is generally frowned upon. I agree.

Totally off topic, but I love your avatar and I miss that game. We're on Civ 5, but we can't have a SMAC 2?

I'm sure you're not allowed to not let your child have medical attention. So, uh, no I wouldn't kidnap a child, just get SS involved or something.

Personally i would call my elite team of ninjas to whisk him away to the local Witch doctor.
What, you asked a hypothetical question, i replied with a hypothetical answer.

I'm pretty sure its a crime in the UK to fail to seek medical attention for your kids. (Let me know if I'm wrong).

So, I dont think I would need to abduct a kid, social services would do that for me.
But otherwise, no, I would definately try and draw attention to it, protest, etc. But, you cant just turn up to a hospital with a kid you just nicked.
