I could see all of Film, Music, TV, Video games and other luxury mediums as being rather simply divided into either the category of Entertainment or Education, depending on how the content of the medium conducts itself.
Which do you think is more interesting?
Or a better question is, which do you value more?

Why can't we have both? I mean my favorite games/movies/TV are those that actually have some form of an intelligence behind it.

Educated, of course. I'm not sure there's much TV that can actually educate, but I definitely value that more (coincidentally, I'm studying to become a professor).

QI
The best of both worlds!

Stephen Fry and Co, doing their best to lessen the impact of ignorance in the world.

Also, it's hilarious.

Educated I guess? Dunno, hard to generalize either. Both can be useful, and both could be equally important in some cases.

Stephen Fry pouring audio honey in my ear in the form of random facts of the "huh? cool" variety will always win out over being "informed". Being informed rather than educated smacks of opinion, and usually the folk who'd want to use mass media to inform people aren't the kind of people I have any interest in hearing from. Fox News I'm looking at you here.

Give me unbiased, true data presented in an entertaining manner any day. Wonder if there's any QI on Dave just now......

I am gonna be a bit picky but I think you forgot a third option, enlightened. And yet I disagree that u can choose one of the three.
That said I always want to be informed, if the information is of any use to me.
I hope to always be enlightened, or, to fully understand the information I receive and relate it to other I already possess, being able to draw conclusions.
Educated I only want to be if its useful, as education means changing habits. Good information and/or good enlightenment can lead to good education, bad information like political/religious propaganda or sensasionalist news (Fox News, Daily Mail, The Sun and all the likes) without enlightenment is bad education.
