The music was alright and a decent experiment toward black entertainment, but the way it was presented and everything, only blacks could have really appreciated it. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just what I've noticed. It was hardly comedic in the sense that it had legitimately funny situations. For the most part, it presented humor but the humor itself was weak. It's basically a completely animated rap music video that you might find on BET except they try to squeeze in an awkward story; the story is completely metaphorical much like a music video but they focus on that almost exclusively to the point in which the story itself is lost. A worthwhile experiment to turn a rap video into a story but the execution could have been better to say the least: it paraded as a comedy when it in no way planned on delivering that: it focuses on its music and its metaphor, which is fine except that it wore the mask of comedy while doing little to support it. Those are pretty much my thoughts on Freaknik.
