I would like to see a main protagonist that was gay, whether they be male or female. Though, if some game designer does do this, I would politely ask that they make a gay character who isn't a utter stereotype nor do they have an enormous hatred for the opposite sex.

Like almost everyone else said I think it would be interesting as long as they don't center the whole game around the protagonist's sexuality. I probably wouldn't play a game that revolved around the main character's heterosexuality either.
This is one of those things where people would be worried about saying no for fear of being branded a homophobe. I say no because game designers are nerds so the plot line would probably be bad, the straight relationship ones are usually incredibly adolescent so they'd stumble worse with a gay or lesbian relationship.
