Why does this poll assume we have intelligence? Can we trade the other way around?

You can fake being attractive, but there's no way to create intelligence out of thin air, so no. I'm content with being a plain-looking intellectual.

No, since I can have both. And I'm getting there, just gotta wait for the snow to melt so I can start running again...
You don't have to wait for the snow to melt to run. I do my six mile run twice a week, rain or shine.

That being said, I value my intellect to much to trade it for something as arbitrary as "good looks." It's all in the eye of the beholder. Besides, I've been told that I'm fairly attractive already. Also, I don't much care to attract people, as I don't much care for them as it is.

Do I want the extra attention? I think not! The extra attention will be pointless since those people care for my look not for my personality.

Even though I'm exceedingly unattractive(in my opinion, anyway), I'd still decline. I'm much more intelligent than average, and I'd like to keep it that way.

No thanks. If someone doesn't like how I look, too bad for them, I'll stay the way I am

I'd keep my intelligence because of pride. But if you were to ask me if I honestly thought I would be happier if I had gone with the deal then...I don't know.

Some parts of me do think that looking a bit better would make me happier, more so then the marginal intelligence that basically cost me attractiveness not going through with the deal.

Either be who I am now or be all Durr i R hotz n gitz gurls LAWL.

Please don't tell me people would really do this, it's not that hard to get laid if that's what people are worried about.

If it's just about being good looking enough that everyone stares at you all day and night, prepare for the jealousy.

Rumors, harassment, pretty much ruining your life just because you look better than them.

Of course this is just in high school, it gets worse in College and University.

But after that it goes away, and you're still flipping burgers at McDonalds while that smart but not as good looking kid owns the 36 McDonalds in the county and comes to the drive-thru in his Ferarri.

Just how much intelligence exactly?

Or could I not just go for the treatment and spend the next few weeks on wikipedia to catch up with where I was? :p

I dont remember where I read it (it may have even been here) but there was a study which said that there is strong correlation between attractiveness and intelligence.

So if you are smart you are statistically likely to be pretty, and vice versa. Kind of defeats the purpose of the poll ;)
Sounds like an interesting study, if you happen to find it or remember its title I'd love to give it a read. I agree that every med student I know take very good care of their bodies, mostly because they know what is involved with bad lifestyles so that may have some truth to it.
Found it: http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/01/attractive-people-are-smarter-than-you-too/
I think this article is a bit exaggerated. I read it, and there's one sentence that stood out. "Attractive men have IQs 13.6 points above average, while pretty women score 11.4 points higher." Now, I don't know a lot about the IQ test, but isn't 100 always the average? So these attractive people are scoring 114 for men and 111 for women. That's still kinda mediocre.

That certainly is not mediocre. It's above average for a reason, no it isn't "genius" level, but it's far from mediocre.

And it makes sense on an, albeit flimsy, scientific basis. Smarter people are more attractive to encourage other smart attractive people to breed with them to create more smart people and so on.

I have no intelligence to trade so its an easy choice for me.

I'm damn good-looking already. But if I could knock a few points off my IQ to be guaranteed a chance to age really well so that I end up looking like the Dos Equis Guy or Captain Picard or even Jamie Hyneman when I'm 50 plus? I'd take that. Not like I'm gonna need to be smart with the job I'm planning on doing after college.
