Probably not, I want to have kids too much personally, plus I have a feeling it'd be like that Twilight Zone episode where the guy makes a deal with the devil for immortality, you make the deal, and something bad happens and fucks you over.

Though, question. By no reproducing, does this mean that you can't have sex, or you're just sterile and can't produce no matter what? Cause I'd be more inclined to choose immortality if I could have sex forever than if I couldn't have any sex at all

Hm, why you ask so obvious questions? Immortality is way better than having to rise those little monsters ( I still remember how I was acting as a child brrrr). And from other point of view, Immortality should come with the lack of ability to reproduce, thats the only way to not destroy the balance - normally your children are supposed to replace you after your death, if you don't die, you don't need to have a replacement.

Of course most people are going to choose immortality, although this presents the question as to what would happen if this option was available to everyone and most chose immortality...

Probably no. Call me old fashioned, but I think that having a family is pretty much ultimate life-fulfilment. I can imagine living 1000 years and seeing everyone I know and love die driving me insane or making me very, very depressed.

Without hesitation.
Sure, in reality I'd love to be have kids but if I was presented with this choice, immortality wins.

Although it might get a little bit lonely and a little boring after a whi- oh, screw that.

As much as I love the prospect of being a family man...Living forever just has way to many upsides. although I know one man who could change my mind...

As long as I don't mentally age either (like become some bitter old man with the body of a young man).
How fitting that your profile picture is of Cillian Murphy when In Time came out just three weeks ago and you're replying to this thread... lol

if i dont age then yes. i would do it right now. i dont want children and wouldn't really be able to love someone who would because they would die and i wouldn't.

Probably not. I mean, I currently don't want kids (thanks to taking care of my brother's baby), but I'm still just a teen. Talk to me in, oh, say, seven years, when I can also drink.

Plus, why would an occasionally suicidal person want to continue living? <--Not to be taken srsly.

Not a chance. I would give up the chance to bear children if it would save my life, but I wouldn't give up the chance to create something miraculous for pretty much anything else.

I'm actually kind of shocked how many people have said they would opt for this. I know it's hypothetical, but the thought of giving up one of the integral parts of life so you could live through centuries or millenia watching nations rising and falling, bold new innovations becoming obsolete, and every new generation being washed over by the constant cascade of death would be in my opinion a horrifying and depressing life to live.

Again I know it's hypothetical, but that's my feeling on the matter.

I really don't want to live forever. Everybody I know and love would eventually die and i would become a bitter villian that would want to destroy the world just in the hopes that it would kill me.
